It was a disappointing night. We were at Maas to celebrate a birthday. We had a nice round table in a rather lacklustre room. Service was generally poor and slow. A couple of us thought the wait staff uniforms were dirty or at least ill fitting. We ordered bread. A plate of rolls arrived with one serving of honey butter, one butter knife and no bread plate. One of our guests had a cold No one was particularly interested in sharing the one butter knife. And where, was the bread and butter to go? We asked for side plates. Bowls were delivered. The bread was terrific The presentation was poor. Every one enjoyed their appetizers. We were provided small forks and spoons to eat the appetizers. A knife would have come in handy for the people having salad. Presentation of the appetizers was great. Prior to the main course arriving, we were given a choice of steak knives. We were left with the small forks ( they looked like dessert forks) and spoons. Two of us had chicken. Two had the lamb. The lamb was supposed to be medium rare. Both portions arrived blood red and lukewarm warm. They were very rare without even a hint of a sear on the outside. We spoke to the waiter, who took those two plates and said he would speak with the chef. One guest asked for salt and pepper. The two chicken eaters finished their meals before the salt and pepper arrived in two small bowls Again, one of the guests had a cold. Were all of us supposed to dip our fingers into the salt and pepper bowls? Are there no grinders or shakers? The lamb dinners were delivered ( cooked perfectly to medium rare). All 4 meals were presented well and were flavourful. No one apologized for the undercooked lamb and no one asked how we were enjoying the meal. One dessert menu was brought to the table. No one came to ask if anyone wanted to order dessert. We had to track down our waiter to get a bill. I am a huge Four Seasons fan. This restaurant was a disappointment.

Great dining experience. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that set the perfect mood for the evening. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met promptly throughout the night. (Thanks Nathan for the excellent service). The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, catering to various dietary preferences, and the dessert selection was simply divine. Overall, the attention to detail and quality of the food made for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a special night out!

Our recent brunch experience at MAAS was an unfortunate disappointment from start to finish. At $145 per person, we were left feeling sick and bewildered by the poor service and lackluster food. We began with a radicchio and delicata squash salad that was bizarrely coated in what seemed like caramel butter—dense, greasy, and almost frozen in texture. The omelette was severely over salted. The “unlimited seafood station” was laughable. There were only two crudo options: hamachi and tuna. The portions were meager—just two small pieces of fish per serving—and the staff member serving it asked every time if “that was all” as if discouraging from having more. The “meat station” was similarly disappointing, with just three options. The salmon was a particular letdown—dry, overcooked, and swimming in its own fatty juices after sitting far too long under a heat lamp. A proper medium-rare was nowhere in sight. The desserts were equally uninspired. The upside-down pineapple cake was a disaster—a thin layer of pineapple over essentially raw, doughy batter. It wasn’t just disappointing—it was borderline inedible. And the crown jewel: Service It was nothing short of a nightmare. Our server barely spoke English and seemed entirely untrained. When we finished our first course, she brought out the second while our dirty plates were still on the table. With a straight face, she asked us, “Can you help me clear the table?” It was astonishing. I had to remind her that it’s not our job to clear the table. They failed to replace or refill cutlery between courses. Staff walked by with trays of silverware, yet never noticed that we needed fresh forks and knives. It was as if they weren’t seeing the tables at all. All that with just 4 tables being taken between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The guys that opened MAAS had opened a wonderful Bresca in DC which we’re fans of. Not sure what happened here, just don’t ever go there for brunch.

This was our third time here and the food was not up to par. The menu does change seasonally, but we were disappointed not to see some dishes that we really liked and were not impressed with the new selections. The food was mediocre at best and did not meet the high expectations we had or the very high prices they charge. Hopefully, they will get back to the level they were at their first year.

The ambiance is beautiful, and the service is excellent—exactly what you’d expect from the Four Seasons. However, the menu falls short of expectations for a venue of this caliber and price point. At my table, the lamb was the standout dish, but other selections disappointed. The Black Cod was underwhelming, the “fried crab rice” was more like a mushy risotto, and the red prawns were so tiny and puzzling that it left us wondering what the chef's vision was. On a brighter note, the espresso martini and ice cream were delightful. Overall, while it’s a lovely spot for a cocktail and a scoop of gelato, I wouldn’t recommend it for a full meal. It simply doesn’t justify the time or expense.
