   Whilst the hotel and courtyard setting for the Mad Hatters afternoon tea was lovely, the food was not. I don’t know how hotels decide on the flavours of their sandwiches and desserts but it wasn’t our taste. We didn’t eat any of the sandwiches and the desserts were nice but not great. The scones were also the usual standard and nothing special. Lots of flavours of tea and nicely presented table and Alice in Wonderland themed. The service was ok, but felt we were pretty much ignored once we had our food and took ages to pay and I didn’t receive the birthday cake plate until we were paying the bill. We were sat next to the entrance on the wooden flooring so every time someone walked past, the table moved and so did we. I’ve enjoyed afternoon tea at so many places and this one is the worst I’ve had.

   It was wonderful! We received a very warm welcome from Melanie, and at the table, we were looked after so well by Lay, who explained what all the treats were made of in case of any allergies and took the time for a friendly chat. My daughter even got an extra cake as we were celebrating the end of her exams 🍰 All in all, a beautiful location, friendly staff, and a delicious afternoon tea!

   We paid 190£ for two people…took them 40 mins to get us the food which was very average if not below. Usually you get refills for sandwiched a pastries or even the tea but you only get one portion. They didn’t even bring us teaspoons. For the same price point we would have expected a much better experience. We spent the same amount at the ritz and it was a completely different experience. If you are used to quality afternoon teas you will be very disappointed. In fact I am shocked that all other reviews are so positive…please don’t waste your money

   A unique experience well set up but food choices a little disappointing. Savoury choices over fanciful, scones the show stealer and the sweet patisserie selection too sweet. Ambience wonderful, staff super helpful and attentive, tea choices fantastic. However overall rating good but over priced for whats served and large service charge added to an already pricey afternoon tea!

   I was not expecting that much for everything. The tea was incredible (except for the jasmin tea, too much infused), pastries and sandwiches were very tasty. Big up to Filip, I never seen someone as dedicated and gentle as him. Give him a raise ! I highly recommend.

   Amazing experience, food was incredible with a big variety of teas. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Especially the lady that served us called Abigail.
