Fabulous food! Very expensive relative to portion size, but we’ll be back as the quality and authenticity were spot on.

Cocktails were fine. Lumpia was excellent and the Kinilaw was excellent (we recently ate a couple of meals at CEV in Siargao and it compared favorably). The Tokwa was nicely crisped but the powder on the surface got mixed reviews. Lechon Liempo was my crispy and juicy, but otherwise not much going on. The liver sauce was a hit. Laing was very good -- a little over sauced but tasty. Flan was excellent. Seemed a bit pricey. $6 for small bowl of rice but of a shock. Just back from Philippines and you get 2 mounds of rice with everything -- it's just part of the meal.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us—we’re thrilled you enjoyed the Lumpia and Kinilaw, especially since you’ve recently been to Siargao. Regarding the pricing, we understand it can feel different from what you’d encounter in the Philippines. Our goal is to showcase high-quality ingredients and preparation, but we hear your concerns about portions and cost. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We hope you’ll visit us again soon and give us another chance to delight you with our take on Filipino cuisine. Christina Stone, General Manager

Food was phenomenal! We got the crispy pork belly, noodles, wagyu tartare, and a cabbage salad. And every bite was incredible. Now I’m on mission to try more Filipino dishes. Service was excellent, they really went beyond to make us feel comfortable. Saturday night - the crowd was diverse, families, date nights, and even some people dining alone at the family style table. Music was a little loud but it could have been where we were seated. I’ll recommend this place to anyone visiting Denver. Oh and the cocktails were also top-notch.

Thank you Bridget, Reading your review absolutely made my day—thank you for coming by and trying so many of our dishes! I’m especially happy to hear you’re now on a mission to explore more Filipino cuisine—we’re all about sharing the flavors that get people excited. We corrected the music volume so we can keep things just as fun without overpowering conversation. I can’t wait to see you again soon for more delicious bites and top-notch cocktails. Thanks for recommending us to your friends, and we’re already looking forward to your next visit! Christina Stone, General Manager

The space was beautiful - well designed. and conducive for good conversation over delicious Filipino food. Happy to see elevated Pinoy cuisine joining in the Denver restaurant scene. That said, I wish that the portions are slightly bigger for some of the price points (e.g. Kinilaw and Kare Kare). That said, amazing tastes and textures throughout the meal - and a good representation of what the Philippine islands have to offer.

We received a very warm welcome by the hostess and were seated immediately even tho the restaurant was bustling. Server arrived and explained the dishes to us in a comprehensive manner. Her recommendation of 4-5 plates to share was on point. We had the bread and an order of octopus to start. Then the cucumber salad, the oxtail main course and crab fat noodles with a soft shell crab. All the dishes were unique and had a slightly sweet flavor mixed in with the savory. Most of the portions are not huge but large enough for our party of 2 to enjoy 3 or 4 bites each. The exception was the oxtail, which was a bit larger. Wouldn't recommend this dish for a date. You really need to dig in to each bony piece and grab what little meat you can from a soupy, messy (but quite yummy!) dish.

Hey Laura, Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience at Magna Kainan. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the Pandesal and Kilawin to start. Your suggestion to not order the Kare-Kare on the 1st date is a wise one! Maybe save that for the 4th or 5th. A great first date dish would be the Bistek paired with some of skewers. We look forward to seeing again soon! Justin Del Rosario Assistant General Manager

Beautiful restaurant, above average food with a few unbelievably exceptional bites, the broth in the mussel and turnip dish was next level (I’ll be back once a month for that alone), pigs head dish with soft poached egg and Birds Eye chili peppers was also exceptional! I wish them the best!
