Mandolin is a breath of fresh air to the Raleigh dining scene, combining a casual atmosphere with fresh, contemporary, Southern fare. Mandolin uses the highest quality local ingredients to create seasonal menus that resonate with foodies and casual diners, alike. We share our food in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that replaces the stuffiness of fine-dining with Southern charm. The menu and ambiance reflect the character of Raleigh itself- a blend of rustic and refined, contemporary and traditional, rural and metropolitan. Mandolin, like the City of Oaks, is Southern at its roots, but draws influences from around the world. We love our new home in Hayes Barton, just a stone's throw from Five Points, on the corner of Oberlin and Fairview.

    Food was good. Our entrees were not hot. The frites actually room temp. New server was too eager and must have approached our table at least 15 times. Weren’t offered dessert before check came.

    We enjoyed everything we ordered, it was a group of 4 and everyone ordered something different. The braised pork cheek was the best of all! The corn bread was a little dry.

    The roasted cauliflower and cornbread was awesome. The pork cheeks were super tender ant the ambiance was really nice. The server was super friendly and knew the menu well.

    First off, the service is excellent. Our server Sarah was amazing. We were a party of 5, on a busy Sunday brunch and the service was quick and consistent. THAT is how a kitchen and waitstaff should operate. The food was solid. Not bad, but not the greatest brunch. 4/5 stars. It’s fairly basic staples, but done right. The most interesting option is the Pork Madame. Which is a croque madame but with bbq pulled pork instead of ham. The pulled pork was vinegar based, let that be known. I did not enjoy it as I’m used to tomato based BBQ sauces. The drinks are amazing. I highly recommend the bloody Mary’s If you need a beautiful space to have a brunch moment that you’d share on TikTok, and actually enjoy the food, come here.

    The restaurant was lively but not too loud. You can tell people were having a great time gathering. The service was phenomenal. The food was absolutely fantastic.
