Born in the City of Delights, or more commonly known as Palermo, Italy, Marcello fell in love with cooking from a very young age. Influenced by the crystal clear water, the flavours of the culturally rich air and a little encouragement from his mother, he went on to receive professional training from Milan and owned a restaurant on the Adriatic Sea. Now for over 20 years he's brought his joy of Southern Italian cooking to Vancouver. Marcello's is a neighbourhood gem on Commercial Drive in the heart of little Italy set for any occasion.

We were treated beautifully. Lots of good attention from servers; everything happened at the right wait time - hardly any wait for me yes, orders and food delivered quickly. They comp’d drinks as it was a birthday dinner. Everything was excellent, and Marchrllo’s has been a long time favourite!

Service was excellent slow to start. Then once they needed the table it was inappropriately quick. The people waiting for the table were hovering, the staff were hovering. My husband couldn't enjoy his desert with all the hovering. We were sat at 5:05 and left at 6:15. Funny thing is we went to a play and on are way back we looked in to see if the people who got our table were still there, they were just putting on their coats; I am glad they got to enjoy a 3 hour meal to our 1 hour 10 min. We left a good tip, even though I found our server to be rude. It was an unfortunate experience

Marcello’s was well worth the trip into Vancouver from South Delta! The food was as advertised, the service was top notch! I highly recommend everyone experience this establishment!

We had gone to Marcello a couple of years ago and truly enjoyed the experience so we were very excited to come back on November 23rd, 2024 to celebrate our anniversary. But this time the experience was less than optimal. Our server did say more than 3 words to us, we weren’t even done eating and he gave us take out containers, which made us feel rushed. He walked by several times and didn’t check in on us. The dessert we ordered felt like it just came out of the freezer and came to our table stone frozen. I don’t believe the carbonara was an authentic carbonara. We packed our leftovers and gave them to a homeless person outside the restaurant to avoid having to eat them again. We will never go back.
