The food was outstanding. We sampled a wide variety of tapas that instantly transported us back to our time in Madrid. As it turns out, the chef is actually from Madrid—which explained everything. The octopus was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the artichoke dish packed with flavor, and every bite—from the tomato and anchovies to the rich bone marrow—was simply exquisite.

This is not necessarily a restaurant that I would return to. While the location was beautiful and our waitress was wonderful, the overall experience was not worth the price tag. First, table service (waiting to be talked to, getting water, initial explanation of menu) felt awkward and choppy. Wait staff was also just walking around yawning and not doing much throughout dinner—not inherently a bad thing, but it seemed bizarre. Second, the menu was unclear and very restrictive in what was available (ie there were a lot of “for the table” options and not indicated as such on the menu). There wasn’t a ton of overlap in what was available in the tasting (for the table) menu, so unless you can convince your entire table (or 2+ people for other food options) to order what you’re interested in, you have to find something else. Lastly, the food was fine but not nearly worth what the price is. We ordered the Patatas Bravas (potatoes were well cooked, but the spicy tomato sauce was overpowered by habanero heat rather than flavor), the Rib Eye (no complaints but not a knock-my-socks off dish), and the Scallops (if you don’t like capers, you won’t want to order this). I’m glad we tried this restaurant, as it does have good reviews (this may have been a one-off situation for us!), wasn’t a total waste of time and money for us, but overall not a restaurant I would go out of my way to recommend.

A beautiful patio restaurant with great service, but very overpriced for the amount of food.
