Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant at its core, but it’s also evolved into something more than that. It’s about comfort, generosity, and cosiness.
At Margaret, we work with the best quality produce that Australia has to offer. Chef Neil Perry AM has spent years developing relationships with some of the best suppliers in the country. We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through. On entering for dinner first impression was the tables were packed in and it was noisy. Before we had time to read the menu the pressure was on to order and we had 3 separate waitstaff wanting the order. Without the constant interruptions we could have ordered faster. Our first allocated staff member disappeared and a second more junior was not on top of the specials and didnt inform of the cost . The sommelier was professional and on top of his game. Entree arrived before our first wine chosen for our dishes and we had to ask for it to be delivered. At the conclusion of our meal we called for our bill and then we had another staff member asking us to leave as they wanted our table We explained we were in fact waiting on our bill. Last straw so no tip. Stark contrast with Saint Peter the night before which was a thoroughly professional experience so no surprises they have 3 hats.

Took a close friend for lunch it was her birthday we had great service and the food was delicious. Spent two and a half hours reminising we weren't rushed. Special day.
