Margeaux Supper Parlor presents a novel way to experience dinner by telling stories through cuisine. Guests are encouraged to order a themed trio of dishes, larger than tapas and smaller than big plates, to better experience the menu and recreate the familial bonhomie we associate with supper at grandma’s (when you were urged to try a bite of everything!).
Recommended wine pairings are served in collections to mirror the entree trios.

Margeaux Supper Parlor serves New American cuisine, blending dishes inspired by the two most historic port cities in the country: New Orleans and Boston. Dinner plates include: Tomato & Bacon Jam Deviled Eggs (topped with a fried Maine oyster), Lamb Lollipops with cherry reduction, Pumpkin Ravioli, Beef Wellington, Shrimp & Boursin Grits, and Maple Bourbon Steak Tips.

Brunch is also served in themed collections and includes items such as: Quiche Lorraine, Fried Chicken & Sweet Corn Waffle, Eggs Benedict, and a Black Forrest Waffle.

Our service was subpar (we were one of four groups in the restaurant and it still took us 25 minutes to get the check), the food was expensive and minimal (I had half a piece of sandwich toast and a little avocado for $7), and the experience was disappointing.

We were very excited to eat here - the restaurant itself is quite lovely. The person who checked us in at 8 pm was not friendly at all and seemed like he could have cared less if we waited for our "reservation" table or left. After standing in the hall for about 20-25 minutes we decided to go to the bar to wait for our table. We ordered our drinks and then was told our table was ready. We told the bartender we had gotten our table and she said she would send our drinks over. Around 8:40 we asked our waitress if she could check on our drinks that we ordered, we also were not given menus. So needless to say this was an extremely rocky start to our night. The food was delicious even though we had to wait a long time for it. I think if we decided to go back we would just sit at the bar.

We had a wonderful time at Margeaux! Luan was attentive and friendly. Every dish was delicious. I think that is the first time that I have said that about a restaurant! The drinks were also great - my favorite was the Bali Dragon. I highly recommend Margeaux and would come back. Thank you for a great time.

It was my birthday, and I was really excited about this place and sadly it was really underwhelming. All of the two tops are really close to each other and can barely fit the food on them. The service was the slowest I’ve ever received in Boston. It took 2 1/2 hours to get through a very minimal meal. No one said or did anything to acknowledge that it was my birthday, which I had written about in the notes and had expected a little something like maybe a glass of champagne or even just an acknowledgment. The food was served relatively cold because it took so long- this was literally an endless dinner and when I got home, I was still hungry. The server was trying his best but it would take up to half an hour for a drink to come out come out. In our 2 1/2 hours there I only got two cocktails. I probably would’ve had three more if it didn’t take so long every single time. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Strongly recommend for a lovely evening of excellent service and food served in a novel way, a hybrid of tapas sized portions as curated combinations melded with mix and match or full-size plate options. The staff are very professional and helpful orienting new customers to the serving options. We tried many (honestly tooo many but no regrets). Every one was a gem. Outstanding ones were the deviled eggs, beef Wellington, shrimp and grits, and the swordfish. The wine flights are also an excellent way to sample paired wine suggestions. Did I mention the cocktails? Innovative and delicious. The noise level on a Friday night was high but acceptable, mostly fueled by large parties having an equally good time. I look forward to returning on a weekday evening but would not hesitate to come again on a weekend.

Unique and very group friendly menu layout and options. It took us a minute to get acclimated with ALL of the different combos and themes, but the concept is really cool and allows you to sample a wide variety of plates from the menu. The wine flights also really simplify the task of choosing wines that pair well with your meal. The cocktails were unique and really well balanced. The desserts were fine, I thought the banana bread dessert was a missed opportunity. Margeaux’s kitchen is putting out some stellar food - that, coupled with the ambience (loved to see touches of the old Colette furniture still there!), makes for a very easy decision to be a return diner. All it’s missing is some music to really transport us to New Orleans- can we get a petition going for some beignets and jazz?! All in all, really well done; I’m very excited about this addition to the Cambridge food scene.
