Matsu follows a new light in modern Japanese cooking while paying homage to centuries-old tradition. We honor the philosophies behind the culture and its cuisine while expressing the local terroir and what grows naturally around us. The menu is our study of pristine, simple ingredients, the overall experience a balance, providing a sense of omotenashi, or Japanese hospitality.

We currently offer a 10 course tasting menu that constantly is changing with the seasons and availability, featuring a wide variety of seafood and vegetables, a few meat courses, and desserts. We also have a la carte and vegan options available as well, and walk in guests are welcome to join us either at our bar, or if tables are available for the evening. With advance notice, we are happy to adjust the menu to accommodate most dietary restrictions. A5 Wagyu can be added for an additional $55 per person.

    An unusual culinary experience. A Sunday evening dinner - the 10 course vegan menu. Not sure what to expect (being a carnivore) but my dining companion has been vegetarian in the past so a good opportunity to try something new and tasty. Sunday was pretty quiet - only 2 other tables so we had the restaurant all to ourselves. Servers were knowledgeable and attentive. Best - yam dish Worst - persimmon dish - texture thing that I just didn't like. I would recommend Matsu and hope to try their other offerings

    second visit and equally outstanding as the first one. genuinely nice staff, pleasant. the food, the ambience, the service, the music, the wine - every element well thought out. i simply must highly recommend again!

    Exquisite from start to finish. The cocktails…. Mmmm still dreaming about them; the wagyu, duck, super yummy. Coltrane was a so great and took such good care of us; highly recommend and will back!

    This was such a fun culinary experience. All the servers were well versed in sake and the Japanese experience. The food excelled above my expectations, all dishes were perfectly balanced on all flavor profiles. Price is high but for good reason:)

    Three out of the 10 dishes were very good. The rest were OK. I’m sorry but definitely not worth the $185 price tag. I got the pescatarian version of the prefix menu and was definitely not full at the end of the meal. Yes it’s 10 courses but the portions are so tiny, they barely fill you up. I would not recommend and definitely would not be returning.

    Fantastic flavors, well beyond savory and sweet. The last comparable meal we had was in Cape Town, South Africa.

    I really expected more. Service was great. Portions were very small. If the portions were bigger we would have enjoyed it more. Maybe throw in some bread or something to snack on. We left hungry after the 10 course meal. I think the last two courses were dessert. I did appreciate the creativity. Definitely a talented chef. Bartender and drinks were excellent
