Mermaid Oyster Bar is a family of casually sophisticated seafood restaurants born in New York in 2003.

Starting out in Manhattan’s East Village as a spot-on rendition of a casual New England fish shack, The Mermaid Inn has morphed into an American seafood brasserie, replete with style, hospitality and a menu marked by bold and seasonally inspired cuisine.     Happy to have discovered this terrific seafood place in the theater district. Excellent food. Wonderful well spaced seating so conversations can be heard and enjoyed as well. Excellent service

    Food was very good overall. Burger was fantastic, linguine and clams were ok - too much lemon. Chowder very good. Cool look and vibe. Good value with fair price. Would definitely return and recommend.

    The oysters are a joke. We got six minuscule flavorless garbage oysters at $3.50 a pop. This is not the mermaid oyster bar of years gone by.  Our entrées were fine. The cocktails were delicious.

    Lauren was our server and she was fantastic! She was attentive and almost anticipated what we wanted. Seafood was fresh and delicious. We've been to another Mermaid location and there is a clear standard for food and service. We'll be putting this into our pre-theater meal rotation.
