   We needed to wait for our booking while the table was cleared, even though we were 10 minutes late. There were plenty of staff but maybe it was the table location as we needed to catch someone's eye for service. We asked for medium rare steak but perhaps because it was on the bone it was pretty red, and tepid, even acknowledging resting time needed. We asked for a bit more cooking and some heat to generate the flavour you'd hope for when you're paying $50 for a steak. The steaks came back with hotter fries too. The total bill was $360 for main course and two sides with three glasses of bubbly and two desserts (plus tip, because the young staff are lovely and need it!) . Lovely ambience for a weekend lunch, and an excellent chocolate torte.

   Beautiful surroundings - a dining experience that feels like a mini getaway. The friendly staff greeted us with genuine smiles and were attentive without being intrusive. While the atmosphere and service were undeniably wonderful, the substantial price tag on the menu almost reflects a fine dining experience instead of a more casual outing. Friends raved about their choice of meal - "pork special" and the pavlova was "to die for". My dish was the only disappointment - over cooked lamb. For those willing to splurge a little, this place offers a lovely outing.

   Felt very rushed. We had shared entree and waitress kept wanting to take our plates away before we had even finished. Kept asking us when could she put main course order in. Felt like they wanted us in and out as fast as possible. Food was nice a little on the expensive side but very tasty.

   Devoured our huge burgers over looking the courtyard. Meat patties cooked to perfection with a yummy homemade relish. Shared one end of the table with another group that was cleverly partitioned by a planter box. Open light space and welcoming with very attentive wait staff.

   The restaurant was very busy on the day we dined. Our waitress was excellent drinks were served promptly the waitress informed us of the wait time of food. Drinks were very reasonably priced compared to the city

    A beautiful lunch at Merricks General Store today. Really nice options on the menu. Always been there for breakfast, so was nice to go there for lunch for a change.
