   We like Mexo a couple times a year because of its imaginative and well prepared food. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet the usual standard of excellence we have learned to expect. We enjoyed the mole bites for starters. The guacamole was excellent, although the price on the very small serving (somewhat hidden by the vast amount of arugula) is excessive. The Carne astada was excellent. We asked for our shrimp to be 'mild plus'. recognizing that this is an ambiguous measurement, what we got was plus plus plus...seriously over seasoned. Have all of that said, the restaurant appeared to be seriously under-staffed. Our server was moving around the whole time, but we felt neglected. We didn't get a chance to re-order drink refills until we were nearly done, which meant the second round did not arrive until we were DONE eating.,, Everything took more time thabn it should have. The restaurant was full when we left (we were part of the first seating) dond an evening they would have know it would be full...valentines and all,

   I was really impressed by their flavors! The pulpo ceviche was tasty. Our entrees were well balanced also.

   Everything was amazing. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM on Valentine’s Day for 4 of us and although the restaurant never quite seemed full, we felt they were understaffed. Drinks took quite a while to be delivered and we could see our server had tables all over the restaurant. Overall, great experience and will return.

   Great experience each time. I hosted 20 people in November from The Mosaic Film Experience at MEXXO as well and everyone had such a great time!

   We were looking forward to going to Grand Rapids Magazine’s “Restaurant of the Year.” The majority of the food was uniquely delicious. (The octopus ceviche was mostly lettuce with maybe 1/2 cup of the ceviche.) The main dish I ordered was not available. When I asked Nolan what else was not available he said he would check. In the meantime our ceviche and soup arrived, and we ate it. He then returned to the table and asked if we wanted to order any main dishes. 🙄 The table right next to us sat uncleared for an hour. Our table slowly accumulated dirty cups and plates, which were just pushed aside when our main dish finally arrived. My empty water glass sat for a long time before being filled, and when it was filled, my husband’s almost empty glass was ignored. While the service was sun-par, the food was great, so I’ll happily give them another try.

   Whenever my chef friends visit from other countries, I always take them to MeXO. The food and service are outstanding, and Chef Oscar is truly exceptional. The experience is unique and authentic!

   Had never been here before. Everything was amazing. I had Oscar‘s fish tacos and they were the best I have ever had. Everyone loved what they ordered. Service was great too!

   Good food, unique flavors. Potions could be a little bigger, but prices were reasonable. Two appetizers, one large side salad and three entrées ran about $130. Unfortunately, my shrimp was overcooked, but that probably killed a parasites that may have been in the fish. My son said it was the best tacos, they were stuffed with some crab, that he had ever had. ❤️❤️❤️ overall, definitely worth a visit.
