MIDA by Chef Douglass William's is now open on East Boston's waterfront. Our James Beard Nominated restaurant group is situated directly on the edge of the pier with panoramic views of the downtown Boston Skyline. The restaurant is surrounded by the water on three sides with a massive patio that is perfect for date night and large groups at all hours of the day. Vaulted ceilings, sprawling windows, and a gorgeous lighting profile make this location the perfect destination for all occasions.     MIDA is spreading the love this Valentine's Day with a special three-course menu. Not to mention, roses and dim lighting make us the coziest date spot there is. Friday, February 14th, guests can enjoy our chef's menu ($75) with the option to add wine pairings ($37) and succulent lobster scampi with caviar ($mkt). Delicious dishes like risotto alla zucca gialla, braised beef or the chocolate egg cream, make this the perfect romantic dinner date.     Went for Brunch! Really Fast Service, Great Drinks & Food, Ambience/Music was Chic and Upscale. They let us stay past our 1.5 hours & the views of the water are beautiful!

    Abby was absolutely phenomenal. Attentive and delivered one of the best service guests could ask for. The food is just as good. The drinks are superb.

    Having given a really poor review -well justified- due to a subpar experience during NYE a couple of days, we decided to give it a second chance for a regular evening this time. Reservation was on time, food enjoyable and the experience was comfortable. I also wanted to mention that David Nguyen provided a full refund for the failed NYE experience. While the moment is gone forever, I do appreciate and respect his gesture. Carlos H

    Was there for NYE. Ir wyas an amazing experience. The food was delicious and the wait staff was so friendly and helpful. This is one of my favorite restaurants so I will definitely be coming back again.

    Please provide the general manager email address as I want to formally submit a complaint for such a terrible and unorganized NYE experience at your place, which cost of $100 per person just to reserve a table was a total rip-off! I hate to start the year with a negative note but this was not acceptable so please forgive me. It took an hour after arrival to receive our reserved table. One seated, we were not even offered anything to drink or eat in the first 25 min, and the food was mediocre at best and such reduced night menu was terrible (when reserving you were able to browse the menu (pictures attached) and we were only offered at arrival the “late night menu”). Thank you for offering to take care of the two pizzas we received but in no way this compensate $400 just in reservations and the lost of a planned special moment with my two kids -event that I told you when reserving was the first new year after their mother left us- besides it took us one hour to drive to your place. What a terrible disappointment you were to us, and to the rest of people that we met that also reserved as us and we were just left standing there for one hour.     Our New Year’s Eve experience had some highs but there were definitely a lot of areas for improvement. Seating: we made a reservation for 9:15 however we’re not sat till 9:42 while we were waiting to be sat the hostess was polite and kept us informed however due to the volume of people coming to the door it got very crowded very quickly and it was difficult to get a drink while we waited. Service: we were sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and polite. Where things went poorly was food running. Apps came out together however Entrees was a mess, we got two entrees after waiting about 20minutes then 20 minutes later the other 2 entrees came but one of those actually was a meant for a party sitting next to us and so the final entree didn’t come till 10 minutes later. It was very chaotic. End of the experience: we were disappointed to find out that one of the deserts on the menu was sold out and to make matters worse the bar started to get over crowded with guests hovering over us and getting between us as we were trying to finish one couple asking if we were leaving soon. we have always enjoyed Mida on average nights so this won’t keep us away we understand New years can be difficult but the expectation and given all the poor execution was pretty disheartening.
