Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

The ultimate treat! Afternoon Tea brings together the best of Mimi’s Bakehouse classics, from handmade scones with clotted cream and jam to fluffy cupcakes and nostalgic traybakes served alongside a curated list of tea from Edinburgh’s Eteaket Tea. Our award-winning Afternoon Tea experience is currently available at Mimi’s Bakehouse, Leith and Corstorphine seven days a week. Due to high levels of demand, booking is recommended. We require 48 hours for all bookings. Make it extra special with a glass of prosecco, a locally sourced gin and tonic or a speciality coffee from Edinburgh’s own Machina Coffee.

Great food, coffees took longer than our breakfast to be served though which was a shame but not a massive deal. I would say we would have found it more relaxing had the tables of two not been so close together. We were squeezed into a middle table with people on the other side. Felt like we were having brunch with random people. They should be more spaced out so you’re not on top of each other. Felt it was slightly uncomfortable and awkward. Apart from that food was great.

Lovely experience at Mimis as always. The Halloween afternoon tea was so lovely and worth the money. The staff were lovely and we had a really enjoyable afternoon.

My partner and I were visiting Scotland for the first time and were recommended Mimi's as a brunch option for after our flight. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely, I'll definitely be recommending it to any friends who pass through Edinburgh!
