Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

The ultimate treat! Afternoon Tea brings together the best of Mimi’s Bakehouse classics, from handmade scones with clotted cream and jam to fluffy cupcakes and nostalgic traybakes served alongside a curated list of tea from Edinburgh’s Eteaket Tea. Our award-winning Afternoon Tea experience is currently available at Mimi’s Bakehouse, Leith and Corstorphine seven days a week. Due to high levels of demand, booking is recommended. We require 48 hours for all bookings. Make it extra special with a glass of prosecco, a locally sourced gin and tonic or a speciality coffee from Edinburgh’s own Machina Coffee.

Think Afternoon Tea but with a morning twist - the perfect weekend brunch treat. Award-winning cheese scones, irresistible mini breakfast rolls, a Biscoff pancake stack, we could go on! Perfectly paired with an Eteaket tea of your choice or Machina Americano. Available on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 12.00pm - now that's something worth getting out of bed for! We require 48 hours notice for all bookings.

Delicious food as always. This time we had an afternoon tea, which was varied, tasty and plentiful. Service was excellent and warm. One of my favourite places in Edinburgh.

Lovely catch up with friends over coffee and cakes. Limited supply of choices left in cakes but it was 3pm on a Sunday and still enough to make the choice difficult!!

Food was super delicious, coffee also really nice. Staff was very friendly and it was very chill there. Definitely coming back when we will visit Edinburgh again :)

Absolutely phenomenal experience for my wife's birthday. Warmly greeted and looked after from the moment we got seated. We had our son with us and were asked if he required a high chair which they got for us. The lovely people working there not only made some food suggestions when asked but also brought out a surprise cupcake for my wife with an adorable candle. They couldn't have been more accommodating or friendly. I forgot the name of the main person looking after us (sorry!) with the charm bracelet but she made my son laugh and took amazing care of us. The food and drink was 10/10 and made fresh to order. It was the best breakfast I've ever had. We'll absolutely be back!
