Food was amazing but not consistent in the flavor and looks but still good. Service was ok our server seemed overwhelmed but attentive and was sweet with our large party. Had one person missing food for 20 ish minutes so it was a bit frustrating and disappointing but the manager helped and overall a good experience

Miss Toya’s is the best place i’ve been to in a long time, the place is aesthetically pleasing but the food matches and so does the service. Everyone was so nice and I had a mini surprise gender reveal for my partner and I and they made it so special. Everyone was fantastic like if I could tip the entire staff I would. But it’s definitely worth it and I will be back!

Service was horrible… it was not busy however my waitress took 20 minutes between times she came to the table. My date and I ordered drinks, mine being a Smoked old fashioned, which i was sitting close enough to the bar to see when it was done, it took me several times of asking about my drink before the waitress went and grabbed them from the bar which was 30 minutes after they were done, and my smoke was completely gone. The food was ok, but not seasoned well. Very disappointed in my experience

We celebrated my mother’s birthday at Miss Toya’s, and it was an amazing experience! The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Donnie, the bartender, was excellent—friendly and attentive. The bus boys were also incredibly on point, making sure everything was taken care of. I didn’t give 5 stars only because they ran out of soda. The highlight was the thoughtful birthday sign for my mom, which made the celebration even more special. Highly recommend this spot for great food and memorable occasions!

Simply put, the location in Hyattsville has better food (and more menu options). This location isn’t as established yet and it is evident by lack of experience from wait staff. Our party ordered two alcoholic beverages that were never put in and were ultimately canceled off the check. There wasn’t clear communication with the waitresses (we had two who served us during the night) who took our order so sides were missing when the food came out. The core food (Mac and cheese, Grits, Salmon entree, Catfish) were all tasty but the appetizers/small plates such as salmon bites, greens, cornbread are not the same quality as at the original location. IMO: Try the hyattsville location if you’ve never experienced with this restaurant before so you can truly enjoy the food.

I recently visited Miss Toya’s Creole House and was thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, with generous portion sizes, and the atmosphere struck a perfect balance between being family-friendly and grown-and-sexy. It’s especially inspiring to see a Black-owned restaurant thriving near an HBCU, as it brings a sense of promise and renewed hope to the community.

Was celebrating my birthday with a party of 9, reservation was for 6p. The restaurant is beautiful with pleasant decor and atmosphere. Was warmly greeted for my birthday by staff. Donnell who was on point was our waiter but also said he was the bartender as well. He gave a great presentation and afterwards took our orders. We got our appetizers which were phenomenal. Fried green tomatoes with crab and cheesy spinach dip with crab. This is where the evening declined. Our entrees were bought out sporadically . We watched as several customers come in get seated, ate and left as some of us were still wating for our food. Donnell who was doing double duty in checked with us and went back to the kitchen to find out what was going on with our food. Ultimately at about 8:30, three of my guests hadn’t received their meal. A Young lady who I assume was the manager came over and apologized. I heard Donnell tell her that he put the orders in and don’t know why we hadn’t received our food. The manager was apologetic and accommodating. The food we did receive was delicious with the exception of the smash burger which was subpar at best. The patty was over cooked and didn’t seem to be fresh beef but a frozen patty. The restaurant seemed to be under staffed that evening and the kitchen DEFINITELY dropped the ball. Would like to give the restaurant another shot just with a smaller party.

I made reservations for my birthday for a table of 8 for 7:45. I arrived at the restaurant and was told that I would not be seated until at least half of my party arrives. This really upset me because it’s my birthday I made the reservation and I have to stand up in front of this restaurant until the other guest arrive. I never had an experience where they had to wait for other guest. What if no one showed? Then I wouldn’t have still be able to eat and enjoy my day. My reservation was for 7:45 I wasn’t seated until 8:30 amd the restaurant closed at 9 which meant we had to hurry up and order our food before the kitchen closed. I was served a desert for the birthday girl the waitress said was a gift from them but no one came and ask me what dessert I wanted instead they brought out a banana pudding that I couldn’t eat because I’m severely allergic to bananas. So nevertheless I felt rushed and really didn’t get to enjoy my self or the food.
