   Service was excellent. Food was very good. We visit from Cincinnati for the Dave Koz concert every year. This is our favorite restaurant. This has become a tradition.

   We hadn't been to Mitchell's in a very long time, since Walter Carpenter was GM. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food - the Lobster Bisque was watery and barely warm; the Tomahawk steak was tender but lacked flavor. The best part of the meal was the "No call, no show" cocktail, which was fabulous! Kudos to the bartender!

   Great Christmas downtown experience! Easy location for parking if you don’t want to valet, old Columbus atmosphere as many people were heading to the theatre for the Nutcracker , quiet Christmas carols playing in the background, cooked to perfection filet , delicious wine to match and we loved Kelly our server. Gave a 4 out of 5 on food because the calamari was too spicy for me as an app and I wasn’t in love with my cheesecake ;)

   Service was super slow. Multiple times we were waiting 10-15 minutes for drinks and/or food. The food was ok but not what I would expect from a high end steakhouse. We have been there before and had the opposite experience so this may have been an aberration.

   First, let me say that we love this place. I’ve been going here for our annual Christmas dinner for many many many years. The decor of the old Huntington Bank with its art deco finish is unique and delightful. The steaks and food are generally spot on, the cocktails and bar excellent. They also have valet parking at the moment, which is really helpful in downtown area. Our only issues this time were that we had less than optimal service. One of the problems was that a party of 12 came in shortly after us and co-opted our waiter. The other ones that one in our party delayed their ordering, which caused a problem for all and of course, is no one else’s fault. The chocolate mousse is not, although beautifully presented, distinguishable from the whipped cream on top. It needs a strong chocolate and perhaps coffee flavor. Another smaller grip is that they are putting Himalayan salt on top of their butter, which leads to an unpleasant mouthful of salt on first bite to the unsuspecting diner. It’s a clever idea, but best if it’s pointed out. To end on a high note, their lobster bisque is the best. I’ve eaten anywhere in my travels here or abroad. No question.

   Was a bit disappointed on the quality of food. I ordered the scallops and split them with a friend because we had appetizers and salad also. The scallops were supposed to be on a bed of risotto with a butternut squash. There was barely any risotto on the plate and the squash was not cooked to the point they were hard to bite into, almost crunchy (not in a good way). I mentioned this to our service and she said "I guess the chef missed the mark on that one" We were in a hurry to go to a play at The Palace so I didn't push it any farther but for a $57 plate and no offer of cooking it more or removing it from the bill I don't think we will be going there again anytime soon.

   A bit of a disappointment in some respects. Service was good but my ribeye steak was below average; was small and more grizzle than there should have been. Our meatball appetizer was great. Wine selection was good. Loaded baked potato was below average. If I’m spending $400 on dinner I want everything to be excellent.

   I had paid for a semi private room, so I assumed the service would be more prompt. Seating for 8 for a special occasion. Had to put down half the cost for a deposit.tothere was about a 15 to 20 minute wait between each course and each person had a 4 course meal, so there was a lot of down time throughout the night. Had to keep asking for refills for water. There were only about 15 people in the entire restaurant. Thank goodness the food was high quality.

    Didn’t even get to eat at this place. Sat at the bar and was greeted and told it was happy hour. Sat there for 20 minutes without an order being taken. To the point we missed happy hour timing from just waiting. Couldn’t even flag down a bartender to be helped or order. Ended up walking out for the lack of service.
