Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palette for a steakhouse. We broke the mould and decided to add hand-selected music that reflects us! We’re more like Jay Z and less like Sinatra.

We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we don’t serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put in to produce our beef.

We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

We use a 1800 degree Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on the outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

    Awesome food!!! The Black Cod ( I personally don’t eat beef) was soooo delicious - can be tricky to cook but the kitchen cooked it to perfection .. the rest of my group had steaks - all were cooked exactly as requested & all were enjoyed! Have the brussel sprouts as a side if still on the menu - we all loved them!! Note the sides are big enough to share between 2 people. Our server was great ! All staff we encountered were very welcoming!!! And - the restaurant is beautiful!

    I never write reviews but this place deserves one if only because my wife was still raving about the whole experience the next morning. The service was great from start to finish, the food was amazing and overall high praise. My wife loved the angry potatoes and got a bottle of wine she said was amazing. If you’re looking for a guaranteed win go here. Thanks for the experience

    We had an excellent "Date Night" with friends, and the server was wonderful, attending to us very well. The Date Night steaks and sides with a bottle of wine is an exceptional deal and a fantastic way to enjoy great steaks. We added a couple of very tasty appetizers, seafood rolls, and wagyu dumplings, which completed an amazing night out with friends. Date Night Wednesdays is one of my favorite dinners when we go out. I look forward to enjoying many more fantastic dining experiences at Modern Steak.

    Date night menu was great value - one steak at our table was very much over charred but the staff quickly remedied this with a replacement. Sides and desserts were 'ok'.
