I have been to Moes several times, mainly for their Happy Hour from 4-6 and it’s always exceptional — especially the bartenders Geza and Matt. However, we booked the early bird dinner for last night, Christmas Eve, via the Open Table website, and were “greeted”at the door by the maitre’d who rudely told me “ we don’t have early birds anymore.”. When I explained we had reservations, he shrugged and said he’d make an exception THIS TIME. If it hasn’t been a holiday dinner (with my neighbor who just lost her husband) we would have left and gone somewhere else. The salad and cheesecake were very good but my filet was too rare — I sent it back and they returned with another steak that was just as rare and over seasoned. We didn’t get happy hour prices for the alcohol either, even though we got there at 5:15. I will continue to go for happy hour in the bar but it’ll be a long time before I eat dinner there. By the way, our bill came to $270 (the dinners were $55 pp— the rest was for 3 martinis, 2 glasses of wine and 2 gran marniers.

We had Christmas Eve dinner with our family. Incredible drinks. I had the NY strip, Oscar style. Fantastic. The atmosphere and service was spot on for the Holidays.

Great steakhouse just 2 blocks from the beach. Has old school steakhouse vibe. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. Highly recommend the Old Fashion cocktail that comes with a uncrustable type of sandwich on top. Defiantly will be returning.

The Thanksgiving dinner was overpriced for pressed turkey and undercooked green beans. However the service was excellent! Would try again for their regular menu
