   While it was not bad, it was not the quality I expected for the price. It also felt very constricted and crowded because of the layout of the buffet in the hallway.

   We went in for brunch and it was changed up to lunch already when we arrived at 11:55am. We went ahead and had lunch there but the food is not what you would expect for this location. Just didn’t think it was worth it should have just went downtown.

   My husband and I just got married on Saturday, March 22, 2025. We stayed at The Galvez that weekend and attended the Sunday Brunch. The ambiance and the food selection was superb. I love that there is a seafood bar as the first course. My husband and I were so shocked to see that the oysters were so big. We will definitely be back., I know that the Sunday Brunch had a very strict dress code. The table next to us consisted of two young gentlemen wearing shorts. I thought that shorts weren’t allowed? I had a friend who wanted to eat there last year, and he was asked to leave because he was wearing shorts. Unfortunately my friend did leave and he would never eat at the Monarch again. If the restaurant is imposing a strict dress code, please have all staff members adhere to that dress code, and not allow any guests to come in with shorts. It’s not fair for some guests to be able to wear it and some not. It needs to be the same across the board.

   The food and service was great. Only complaint is the dress code. If you are going to say you have a dress code please enforce it! There were several people in the restaurant (men) wearing shorts and tee shirts which you say are not allowed. Either enforce it or take it away!

   The price was decent for a restaurant in a hotel, would assume it would be marked up a lot. Most importantly the food was good and the server was very nice.

   We were disappointed in the lack of variety in the buffet compared to years past. The food we did eat was very good. We were placed in the “cafe” section. We would have preferred to sit in the main dining room, especially for the prices we paid. The service was just horrible, the only good part was we fixed our own plates.

   Excellent menu, very well prepared food, and courteous service. If only the kitchen was able to keep up with demand and not take 20-30 minutes to get courses and be able to serve all guests at a table their courses at the same time.

    The food was cold. When I went to meat station, carver told me meat was cold but to add au jus - well that was ice cold. Shrimp and snow crab were delicious but then you expect that dish to be cold. If food was served to temperature it would have been memorable. My guests were disappointed
