Morella celebrates the gastronomic influences that immigrants from European countries, particularly Spain and Italy, had on Argentinian cuisine in the decades following the mass migrations at the turn of the 20th century. Morella features traditional empanadas, wood-smoked meats, pastas and internationally inspired drinks — all meant to be enjoyed in a bright convivial space.

Our name, Morella, is a derivative of the word Morel, the earthy, nutty, and rare mushroom that is prized by chefs and restaurant connoisseurs, and is featured selectively in our menu who cousins make appearances in our vibrant decor.

Needs to figure out if trying to be a bar lounge or a restaurant. Music was too loud for servers to hear our orders, food quality was not quite there yet. I’m mindful of how new this location is. They’ve got some quirks to sort out.

The ac was on blast. It was too cold and we couldn’t enjoy our meal.

This is such a cute spot! Had a girls night out but honestly, it would be a good date night too. The food were delicious! But try the steak and bone marrow!

Went in around 5PM to meet some friends for dinner at this new spot in the marina. Drinks were good and decor was amazing. However, the food was a true disappointment. We ordered the grilled octopus which came with 5 thinly sliced pieces and not even a full tentacle or enough serving to be considered an appetizer, it was mainly vegetable/salads, truly embarrassing. Additionally, the crab ravioli was so cold that we had to return it to get heat up again and it still came back cold, got too shy to return again for reheating. Ordered the shrimp Alfredo but shrimps were cold and bland! No flavor to the shrimp…we had 3 different waiters/waitress within a 1 hr span. Would go again to get a drink but the food was a disappointment.

The best part of the new restaurant is the ambiance and vibe. Similar to Casadonna in Miami, but right here in The Bay. They did a great job at remodeling the previous Dorian. The drinks were great and categorized well. My date was pleasantly surprised at the big size of her drink. The service was good and all staff was friendly and attentive. This is the Marina’s newest restaurant and it doesn’t disappoint. The food was also great and all items on the menu were good value we said. No major sticker shock or upsell here like many other newer SF restaurants. Thank you Morella. The only thing I did not like was the high percentage suggestions for TIP on the bill. You gave suggestions for 20% to 25% tip after taxes and fees. That’s $27.51 for a $96.00 subtotal, left a bad taste after such a nice experience. I often give more generous tips, but usually start at 18% before taxes. That’s the only part that didn’t sit well with us. See you soon.

We celebrated two birthdays at Morella and were so impressed! The friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere made for a great night. We loved the Arancini, Martini Dip, and Bone Marrow, while the Gnocchi with Truffle, Short Ribs, and Lamb Chops were standout mains. Their Espresso Martinis and Negronis were crowd favorites. Though they were out of the Picanha Steak, we’ll be back to try it! Great food, cocktails, and decor—don’t miss it!

The menu is incredibly complex and could use some simplification. Food also came out slow and was poorly timed - think menu simplification could fix this. Overall the food we ordered was solid but nothing special. The bone marrow was done well, but accompanying horse radish and marinara felt like they came out of a jar. Dungeness crab ravioli left some to be desired as the ricotta within the ravioli was unseasoned and seemed like it came from a freezer bag. The lamb was cooked excellently but nothing unique. The Yuka fries were very good. All of the food was over garnished often with unadditive items included purely for aesthetic. Ambience was great; the spot is very cool. Given value vs. quality, I won’t be returning but am not upset I went.
