   I had high hopes but left unimpressed. The Caesar salad was over-dressed while the bourbon was under-poured. The shrimp and clams in a scampi sauce was in a red sauce to my surprise. Easy substitutions—bolognese sauce for the gnocchi and sautéed spinach for the pasta side—were not available. No bread was offered or served. Food was good but I will not return.

   My husband and I found Mother Anna’s by accident. We both loved a restaurant of the same name that was in the North End of Boston so we thought we’d give it a try. Turns out it’s the same family that closed their doors North End location and settled in Medfield. The servers were awesome and very knowledgeable of the entire menu. We each had veal dishes with different preparations both equally tender. The veal Roberto was outstanding and the mushrooms in the veal Verdicchio were so meaty and delicious it was incredible. It was nice to have a quality n/a beer for my husband (Peroni) and the wine list was diverse. The cherry on the experience was the blueberry panna cotta for dessert. The best! So smooth, not too sweet with a scoop of freshly whipped cream on the side. If you’re in the area, you must go try Mother Anna’s! The value for the quality was great as well-add that to free parking and a short drive not to Boston makes this a destination we will repeat for sure!

   What a nice surprise ! It was like a throw back to authentic fresh and delicious north end food! All our meals were simply made and every bite so tasty and fresh ! Veal was perfect, shrimp perfectly cooked and salad crunchy and cold. Service was efficient and so pleasant. Will be back

   We normally love this restaurant. Not last night… our reservation was honored, but our party of 2 was put at a tiny table wedged between 2 others. The worse part was there was barely room for anyone to walk between tables. There was a narrow space next to us that servers, bussers, hostess and diners needed to use to get through. We were almost hit with food laden plates, glasses and a big pitcher held by folks trying to get through. A table of 8 behind us got up to go and we had to stop eating until they filed past us. Everyone bumped my elbow or shoulder as they tried to maneuver to get out. Several larger people practically had to lean their backsides on our table to squeeze through. My husband had his cane balanced on the other side of the table of the table and the server knocked it to the floor twice because space was so cramped. I think management needs to re-evaluate how they locate their tables so people are not on top of each other. We love the food here, but I think we will be bringing it home from now on; this is not a relaxing or pleasant environment to enjoy a meal.

   Everything we ate was amazing. As good as any North End restaurant, yet only 10 minutes from my home in the suburbs! We will be back!

   Server was sweet but needs to be trained. Our salad came out after the entrees and only after I asked about it. My friend ordered a glass of wine and despite sitting at a high top next to the bar it took about 20 minutes and a few prompts to receive it. The food was ok.

   Two old friends met for dinner - we had a lot to talk about. The lemon sole was a special on the menu and was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was helpful and not intrusive and the wine was excellent.
