The Bistro at Muriel’s Jackson Square offers contemporary Creole cuisine with New Orleans classics like Seafood Gumbo, Turtle soup, Shrimp & Grits and Wood Grilled Pork Chop while the Courtyard Bar is the perfect place to drop by for drinks and appetizers. The Séance Lounge is the place for a relaxed, comfortable meeting before or after dining. Comprised of two areas, The Outer Seance and The Inner Séance, the Séance also tells the story of a mystic checkered past. The Outer Séance addresses the New Orleans era of Storyville when Muriel's Jackson Square was one of the French Quarter's top bordellos! The Inner Séance is the preferred domain of the resident ghost, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan; it's the perfect spot for an intimate conversation or a drink among its plush surroundings. The 170 foot wrap-around balcony is a splendid spot for enjoying our specialty cocktails or our extensive wine list featuring over 300 selections from around the world.

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday celebration with a window table. The service was great and staff very attentive.

It was pretty overpriced and kind of overhyped. We did the Reveillon menu and the first two courses came out quickly and were pretty good. The entrees were overly salted and my gingerbread cake dessert tasted stale. It took quite awhile for our third and fourth courses to arrive, so the rhythm felt off. Overall, it was fun and the restaurant is beautiful but it’s far from what we expected based on other reviews.

This is me and my husband's second time visiting this restaurant. We were impressed both times. The food is amazing. My husband didn't care too much for the gumbo, but that's his southern palate. I enjoyed everything. The people are friendly and the place is CLEAN. I will be back for their bread pudding for sure!!!

My snapper on reveillon menu — the sauce had way too much mustard. Otherwise food was very good.

We really were excited to eat at Muriel’s. We are from the area so we wanted to try something different so we made a reservation for 4. My daughter had seafood gumbo, my wife had the $55 3 course menu, I had the $75 4 course menu and my son had chicken strips. We also ordered the goat cheese crepes, which we never received. The seafood gumbo came out for my wife and daughter. I had the YaYa gumbo. My gumbo was fantastic. Theirs, however, was burnt. The taste of the gumbo was rancid. The waiter was very accommodating and brought out the mushroom soup, which was ok. I had the citrusy shrimp salad which was good. Then the main course came out for my wife and me. She had the shrimp and grits. I had the venison. Mine was very good. The grits were great on my wife’s dish but the shrimp were very rubbery. Then dessert came out and that was an utter disaster. She had the creme brûlée and I had the chocolate pecan tart but what they brought was not a chocolate tart. It was some kind of a chocolate cake roll. The kids were given ice cream. We really and truly wanted to enjoy this experience but for $250 with tip, this was not worth it.
