TLDR - food was fine, cocktails were OK, service was mid. Felt like it missed the mark and didn't really nail a high level I'd expect from an offshoot of Indienne. None of us came away saying a single thing we had was "great" which feels like a big miss. It feels like the aim of this restaurant is to serve authentic Indian food in an elevated setting. The food quality was good and the ambiance was nice, but if I'm going to pay higher prices for small portions, I'd expect a higher level of presentation, top notch service and much better cocktails. The cocktail menu was limited, and they weren't able to provide some basic/classic cocktails. The service was just OK. The menu was pretty big and many dishes were unfamiliar to us, so it made it hard to figure out what to order. The server helped us, but again -if you're trying to be upscale I would expect something more from a service perspective to really paint the picture of the dishes, their origins, their taste profiles, etc. Basically - sell it to me. I want to feel like I came away learning about authentic Indian cuisine. The food, while tasty and delicious, didn't feel elevated and the portions were pretty small. I came away feeling like I could get the same from a regular neighborhood Indian restaurant. For what we got and the fact that the cocktails were so limited 'd probably just opt for a lower budget Indian place where I can get equally tasty dishes. Feels like the concept is missing something. I'd like to view this as an upscale Indian restaurant, but it was missing a few things that would elevate it to the level where I would return.

We had a great time eating at Nadu. The food was just like they described—regional Indian—and it was delicious. It was hard to get a reservation, but totally worth it. The flavors were tasty but not too strong, and the drinks were thoughtfully made. We’d definitely recommend it! Just know the menu is on the smaller side.

Bihari kabob was amazing, so soft that it melted in my mouth! Benne dosa was good but the chutney’s were a bit bland. The muri mangsho was ok, could be better.

Chef Sarkar never disappoints! The food was flavorful and genuinely spoke to the ‘regional Indian’ theme. The Rose mocktail was refreshing!

Incredible cocktails and shared plates. Slightly less impressed by the vegetarian large we shared which was the coconut curry but overall, Chef Sujan struck gold again.

Drinks: Aam: I thought it didn’t hit the Aam panna taste, but my husband happily loved it. Haldi: I had this gorgeous drink on the bartenders recommendation. It was so nostalgic, so well executed. Til: Reminded me of Tilgul at Makar sankrant, beautiful take on Old fashioned. I’ve come up with a jaggery old fashioned. And this sesame-washed version is it. Kokum(NA): Tastes exactly like Kokum Sarbat. All the drinks were very well balanced and well mixed, so cohesive. Small plates: Benne Dosa: The bartender said I know you’ve had it, it’s common, but try it. Wow. If you’ve had the best Malleshwaram Dosa at Carnatic Cafe in India, this is that and even better. Wow. Chutneys omg. Mushroom Galoti: 100/10. 🤌🏼 Not only does this taste like the best Galoti Kebabs you can find in Delhi, it’s vegetarian! My mind is totally blown. I was in shock, but a happy gastronomic shock. Prawn Balchao: 10/10 taste. The head part of the prawn was so yummy and buttery I have never had anything like this. Ribs: the meat was tender and juicy. I think the tamarind flavor can be toned down a little bit or have less sauce in the ribs. It was great it wasn’t mind blowing. Great execution on all the small plates! Mains: Dal Bhat: no notes. Parotta: no notes. Tomato Pappu: Loved it, husband thought it was a bit too tangy because of the cherry tomatoes. But I believe that is the essence of pappu. I’ve never had a aunthentic pappu, only the average daals so I thought it was great with the yellow tomatoes. The red ones were a bit tooo tangy. Still would give 10/10. Mudhi Mansha: 3/5 I loved seeing the Oriya representation but I don’t imagine a lot of people loving this prep. Dessert: Casatta and Payasam Flan with Rose cookie: Great execution!
