Nami Nori is a casual, Japanese restaurant specializing in open-style temaki hand rolls, located in Montclair. The menu features signature hand rolls, including crunchy varieties, as well as classic versions, and a special vegan section. Japanese-inspired dishes from the kitchen and desserts are also on offer.

We accept reservations up to 30 days in advance. Please note that the grace period is 10 minutes for guests who are running late. We kindly ask that guests respect our dinner seating times of 1 hr 30 minutes for parties up to 3 and 2 hours for parties of 4-5, and 2 hr 30 minutes for parties of 6 or more.

There’s nothing better than sitting at the Temaki Counter and having the chef personally hand you each piece! This chef interactive reservation will be at the Temaki counter, which is a high top format. Please note, due to demand, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have the ability to move this reservation to a different table type or dining area.

Grab a seat in our indoor dining room and enjoy a server driven experience! This reservation will be seated at a traditional table inside. Reservations at tables will receive their Temaki in complete sets. To guarantee the most crisp nori, each piece will be wrapped in a plant based wrapper that you’ll remove when you’re ready to enjoy! Please note, due to demand, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have the ability to move this reservation to a different table type or dining area.

What an inventive way to serve sushi rolls. Tasty with varieties to please any palate. Much more expensive than most sushi places, but good for a special occasion.

Always a good time at Nami Nori. We always sit at the counter because you’re never just going for a meal, it’s an experience. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful experience at this sushi restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful, but what stood out was how thoughtful and accommodating the staff were. I made the reservation for 2 with a baby, and they are willing to set us up for a table instead of the counter. On the day of, I needed an extra seat for MIL; the team went out of their way to rearrange things and make space for us without hassle. They were friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming — which made a huge difference for us as new parents. It's rare to find a restaurant that combines great food with such warm, flexible service. Highly recommend, especially for families!

This is hands down our favorite restaurant in our restaurant rotation! The two spring special dishes, snap peas and the white asparagus...... just OMG! Experiencing these two dishes is a spring symphony to the palate!

It took them 1 hour and 30 minutes to make 5 pieces of sushi for us each. Was the quality good, yes. Overall freshness of the fish was definitely there. However I received phone calls about the length of our reservation being an hour and a half and that’s very true. The menu suggests having 5 pieces and that you’ll be full on those 5 pieces. My friend and I were not satisfied and needed to go elsewhere afterwards. We were starving. It looked to me that the 2 sushi chefs at the bar were making the pieces for every my single person in the restaurant and that basically because they’re low staffed is the reason you really can only get 5 pieces each. The timing between each piece was incredibly slow and left us sitting there wanting more. For 90 minutes we basically received a piece of sushi every 18 minutes it was insane. Not sure I’d go back. We paid $100 each. We also got 2 appetizers which were teeny tiny.
