Valentine's Day Menu was nicely themed and awesome service. However, it is very overpriced for small portions. Special menu was hidden on their menu and in the app for pre reservations or not even there to see selections. It is really disappointing we were having an awesome time until we got the check. The Cauliflower steak had 3 pieces of Cauliflower in it. My girlfriend went home unfulfilled and still hungry. It is sad on a special night that it's more about making a buck and turning tables than ensuring a customer has a fulfilling meal. Would have been back.

Meal good except dessert was pretty much tasteless. Went on Valentine's Day; picked regular menu for reservation choice, but only offered fixed menu. No prices on menu; big sticker shock to get bill for over $300 for what would have been less than $200 if ordered a la carte. I've been coming here since it opened and before when it was on 14th Street. Sorry to say this experience has soured my feeling for Nan; unlikely I will return.

We had a delightful evening and the food was great for a Valentine’s Day special, but the meal was a bit pricey.

Nan has been in my Top 5 Fav Restaurants in Atlanta for a long time. However, I was disappointed in the way they handled dinner on Valentine’s Day. I made a reservation for two people in January and was happy I was able to secure a good time slot, 7:45pm. I was not aware that they were only offering a preset menu that night. Leading up to Valentine’s Day, I received at least 4-5 additional text messages about my reservation, and none of them stated that all they would be offering is a preset menu. I didn’t know until I was seated at the table and noticed that there weren’t any prices on the menu that would be our only option offered that night. The price was $125 pp. At that point, it would have been a nightmare trying to go somewhere else for a nice dinner, so we decided to stay. They started everyone off with a watermelon salad, then each person could choose a soup or salad, entree, and everyone got the same dessert. I got the lobster tail and my friend got the short rib. The food tasted delicious, however it was shocking to see that the size of her short rib was close to the size of a Ritz cracker! All the portions of everything on her plate were ridiculously small. Our tab came to $325, which didn’t include any alcohol. We shared one bottle of sparkling water. They automatically added 20% to the bill ($51). I’m sorry…for that kind of money, we should have been able to get exactly what we wanted in decent portions. I get it that businesses capitalize on holidays like Valentine’s Day, but what Nan did left a bad taste in my mouth. On a regular night dinner for two with an appetizer, the same entrees, dessert and a couple of drinks would have cost less than what we paid and would have been full entree portions and would have enjoyed everything we ordered. That watermelon salad and dessert was a waste. When spending over $300 for dinner for two, which doesn’t include alcohol, one should be totally satisfied with the experience.

We dine at Nan a lot. At least three times a year, if not more. It’s one of our favorite special occasion restaurant, but never again when they have a pre fixe menu. The only really yummy thing was the starter. The coconut soup was not the Tom Kha soup that they normally serve, which is the best in the city. The entree selection options were extremely limited and burning. And the desert was just gross, covered in strawberry sauce that looked at tastes like it was from a Smucker’s jar. Our server was clearly overwhelmed and slow, despite the fact that her section was not even full. The total cost was an amount that we’ve happily paid at Nan in the past, but for a far better experience. And the inclusion of a 20% top (almost $60) left me no way to register my dissatisfaction with the service. Nan can do MUCH better than this Thumbs Down experience.

Went for Valentines day. I have been a few times before, and always left satisfied. Good portion sizes usually, price fitting the quality of food and service. Valentines day? Felt completely rushed. The tiniest appetizers and entrees. I saw my meal and honestly thought to myself: where is the rest of it? I mean collectively, I felt as though me and my partner were splitting one dish each, yet we were billed in a prix fixed menu of 125/person. I was genuinely hungry following dinner, and even stopped somewhere else to fill up on food. I had minimal service yet was slapped with a 20% gratuity by default. I hope my waitress gets that funding, since that was probably the only positive experience with the restaurant we had that day. I kid you not, I laughed when I saw my dish. That was embarrassing. The typical experience outside of valentines day is great, but this was not worth the money, not by a long shot. I've gotten way more for less at high quality from other comparable restaurants on valentines day. I am sure others think the same. This may be a bit petty too, but they have a next door parking lot that you must pay $7 to self-park? No validation? Get real. You have clients all paying 300 each (prix fixed), yet have the audacity to also charge for valet or self park? This is wild to me.

The fixed price and VERY limited Valentine's Day menu were not well communicated. I don't remember seeing anything about it at all, but could have missed it. It certainly was not mentioned in any of at least two follow-up emails/confirmations. And the drink menu was even limited, in an apparent attempt to force folks to buy expensive mixed drinks and full bottles of wine. We were able order some drinks off the set menu but only after insisting. Worse the management and wait staff were trying to turn tables so fast it felt like a cafeteria. Our amuse bouche and first course came out within about 5 minutes of ordering. We had to ask the server to slow down, which she did a tiny bit. It's hard to overstate how opposite the vibe was from what it should have been on any night in a pricey restaurant, let alone on Valentine's Day. It's sad to say this because the food is so good and we must have been to Nan 25-30 times over the years. As delicious as the dishes were, we can't think of a meal that I've had that was lower value for the dollar. $425 for small portions, two drinks each, and rushed service with a mandatory 20% tip for a two-top!

Love the food but was unprepared for the fixed menu since had seen no indication of it on Open Table. The four course dinner was delivered like an assembly line, which it was. The first course was a slice of watermelon, the dessert course a strawberry crepe which was disappointing. The coconut soup and entree were delicious but both quite small portions. Not complaining about portion size just noting. We had 1 shared bottle of still water. No drinks. Out the door in less than 1 hour. So much for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. The bill? $329, including management assigned $50 tip. Sad not to be going to Nan Thai in the future but done with their pricing.
