Visitors to the Las Vegas Strip in the mood for authentic southern cuisine need look no further than the just-like-Grandma-used-to-make dishes of Executive Chef Mario Nichols, a transplant from the kitchen of this restaurant's North Carolina original location. Grandma is real, too: Nellie was the grandmother of Kevin Jonas, Sr., "Papa Jonas" to the fans of his famous sons, and the founder of Nellie's. The food - including freshmade biscuits, shrimp and grits, and chicken and dumplins, shares top billing with Nellie's hospitality and decor. The gorgeous venue, located within the District of MGM Grand, opposite the Grand Garden Arena and close to Wet Republic, Top Golf and the MGM convention center, is open 7 days for lunch and dinner. Come by to watch the game on our HUGE main screen, or to listen to some live music!

Best fried chicken we’ve had in a long time. Fried green tomatoes were excellent. Service was great. I get the restaurant is in a Vegas hotel, but the pricing was outrageously high. $10 for a side of coleslaw that was maybe an ounce and a half and a third of the other sides is terrible. You should be embarrassed at charging that.

Our server was so good at his job! He was very personable and he made us feel at home. When I was ordering food I was torn between 2 different dishes, he lead me in one direction but then brought me a complimentary side of the other dish, without asking, as a surprise to me. If comfort food is what you are after then visiting this place.

The restaurant service was extremely slow after being seated, seemed to take a long time for server to come and take our order. We had a 445 reservation so the restaurant was not even very busy at the time. Food arrived hot but was typical type food nothing to rave about with high prices. Nobody ever offered to refill our beverages. We even had to track down the server to get our bill after eating. The ambiance did not appear southern to me, it was quite plain not a southern theme. Dissapointed as a native local nevadadan this place was so plain.

I can usually find something redeeming about a restaurant—even if it’s just the wallpaper in the bathroom. Unfortunately, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen in Las Vegas, owned by the Jonas Brothers, left me with nothing but frustration and an empty stomach. We waited a full 45 minutes after being seated and still hadn’t been served. Not even a crumb of cornbread made it to the table. Looking around, we noticed something truly alarming: no one in the restaurant was eating. The entire kitchen was clearly backed up, yet no one on staff seemed to care enough to communicate, apologize, or offer a solution. To make matters worse, my glass of tea sat empty for over 40 minutes with zero effort from the staff to refill it. At one point, I thought maybe we’d entered some sort of performance art exhibit about neglect, but no—it was just terrible service. After enduring this circus of chaos, we finally decided to cut our losses and walk out, joining the herd at the uninspired food court next door. Yes, I paid $12 for mediocre pizza, but at least I got to eat something. As for Nellie’s, the Jonas Brothers might want to spend less time on tour and more time fixing their kitchen and service issues. A restaurant isn’t just about a name—it’s about delivering on a promise. Right now, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen feels like a broken one. Save yourself the trouble and go straight to the food court. At least you’ll get fed

This was our second time dining at Nellie's. It was delicious and has become our new favorite when in Las Vegas. Super convenient if attending a concert at MGM. I had the meatloaf and absolutely loved it. Comfort food for sure...will definitely return and highly recommend
