This restaurant never disappoints. It's a bit of a drive from any major city but well worth it and the scenery is breathtaking. There are a number of oyster farms along with way but save your appetite and have it all at Nick's Cove. The fresh oysters, raw of course, always a treat! However, my absolute favorites are 1) the "to-die-for" Mac and Cheese with Dungeness Crab and (2) the Cioppino. It's made with a thicker tomato base rather than a watery tomato-ish broth. Flavorful and overly filling. If you are there for lunch, have their fish and chips or better yet, share this dish and opt for the Cioppino and share that too. If you are there for dinner, be sure and order the "do-it-yourself" S'mores. They bring you everything you need to roast and assemble your own S'mores in their large stone fireplace. You can also take a walk out to the fisherman's shack at the end of the pier, sitting on Tomales Bay. Nick's Cove also has cottages that can be rented. Idyllic bay side retreat. Each cottage has a different theme or decor. If you haven't been, put this on your list of places to dine and stay... If you haven't been in a while, return. You'll wonder what kept you away for so long!

Please note: Nick's Cove informed us they no longer use Open Table for reservations! They happen to have room for us but they do not accept Open Table reservations. Service is mediocre, we had to flag the server for drinks and the check. The noise level is high. We ordered oysters which were excellent. Mac and Cheese with pancetta which was rich and creamy. Dinner failed. We had sea bass which was dry and over seasoned. The chicken( thigh portion) was fatty with tendon pieces not cut out, the romesco sauce was quite good saving the breast portion. Overall the experience was marginal for the price we paid. Lovely view but we won't be back

My wife and I have been loyal Nick's Cove customers for several years. The restaurant is in transition, but hopefully can find it's legs soon. It's a truly unique spot with an abundance of character and charm.

We both celebrated our birthdays there this year. One sunny and outside and the other hilly and inside. We loved them both and were grateful to have such great food with a beautiful view which was gluten free. The fries were a special treat.

Nicks Cove was so accommodating to our group of 15. We are a group of baby boomer life long friends who get together once a year. The food was fabulous, the service was excellent and the ambience was perfect!!

for a place that has a show stopper of a view/setting/location, the food is perhaps unexpectedly good; reliably very good and occasionally quite excellent. a fun place for dinner with friends and quiet enough to enjoy their company.
