   Wonderful food and overall great experience. Filet was perfect med rare, Chilean sea bass and salmon were flaky and moist, even chicken tenders were next level.

   I have eaten there several times and usually like the food. However, our meal was not up to their usual standards. This time. The chicken was very dry and the Thai salad had way too much dressing on it.

   I made a reservation for 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 5th, to celebrate my birthday. We arrived on time. We were told no tables were available at that time and were offered a stand-up bar table, which we declined, and requested a booth. The hostess informed us nothing was available at that time and told us the booths were reserved for parties of 4 or more. After making us wait for over 15 minutes, we were finally seated in a booth as requested. The hostess was less than welcoming, and we did not appreciate having to wait to be seated. This was the first time we have experienced a problem with our reservation. We did enjoy a wonderful meal (as always) but were very disappointed we were made to wait for over 15 minutes for our reservation. We always enjoy a visit to your restaurant and hope this will not happen again in the future.

   Nick’s Del Mar is a great place for comfort food. Tasty meals. Good cocktails. Had the margaritas. Enjoyed the local market salad. Very fresh tasting. Added the avocado. Wish there was more. Hubby had the Chilean sea bass; always a winner. Comes with sautéed spinach and whipped potatoes. Our server Tyler was great!

   Nick’s in Del Mar is a gem! The Mai Tais are truly exceptional, with their signature foam adding a unique and delightful touch. I had the blackened mahi-mahi fish sandwich, which was incredibly flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The tartar sauce was light, letting the fish shine. On the side, I enjoyed the crispy Brussels sprouts, which were a fantastic complement. My love had the bistro plate, featuring a petite filet. While the steak was slightly overdone, the accompanying tomato soup was creamy and packed with flavor. We also started with the deviled eggs, a consistent favorite at Nick’s and always a hit. Overall, the experience was lovely, with thoughtful dishes and vibrant flavors. A must-visit for anyone in Del Mar!

   Hard to believe it was super sunny today....we had to change tables because of the sun, too bright, After we found a server all went well. The food was hot and tasty. We made reservations but forgot to request low table...high tables are hard for old, short people.

    2024/5 NYE family dinner was an extremely enjoyable experience at Nick's. Cocktail and wine selections were extensive. We opted for the Fig Old Fashioned as well as Sauvugnon Blanc. For main dishes, we enjoyed the salmon and fried chicken. Both were perfectly prepared with whipped potatoes and vegetables. For dessert, we shared the butter cake and whiskey cake options along with expertly prepared cappuccinos to wrap up a perfect evening.
