We made early dinner reservations the day before our dining experience at NOBU. Upon arriving (about 6 minutes late, TBH), we were escorted to the first table immediately adjacent to the doorway in the dining hall. Very unflattering seats and do not recommend to have seats so close to the hallway/doorway. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, however, his voice level was higher than an Elementary School's teacher attempting to assemble the kids after recess. It was literally, a two seat table and we were a pinky's throw from the next guests - absolutely no need to have volume at that level. Our food came out as expected, enjoyed most of it. Drink: Lychee Martini - 1/5 nice presentation but horrible flavor, the sweetest drink I've had in a LONG time Sidecar - Husband enjoyed immensely, came with a nicely stamped NOBU ice Mia Margarita - bitter but much better than the martini Food: Brussel sprouts - salty California rolls - delicious and nicely served Jidori Teriyaki Chicken - delicious Black Cod - delicious, favorite meal and recommend highly side of rice - best addition

Made reservations far in advance to celebrate a birthday and dressed to impress. Our experience…we were seated in the back glass room next to the kitchen with a view of a 4 foot tall old rusty battery in the corner, also next to the door so cold wind hit us everyone it opened and next to the kitchen door which was hot and very smelly. That table placement should not exist. We asked to be moved and were told only the sushi bar was open. Staff really couldn’t care and were overall inattentive. They did give us one entry free but that didn’t matter. We came to experience nobu… and that was our experience. Food was good though.

There for lunch first time. Dishes tasted ok overall and presented cleanly. Two waitstaff were polite and helpful. Lot of staff there and noise while restaurant was quiet/not full for lunch.

Really overrated at this location. Small dining room and the food was nothing special. We had the Omakase dinner and the meal was so underwhelming at a significant expense. One of the eight course dishes was miso soup! At $200 per person we were expecting more creativity in the meal. Service was very good - the only real highlight.

We got a seat at the bar ordered cocktails and small dishes. Everything was uniformly excellent. The barkeeper was knowledgeable and made a beautifully balanced Manhattan. The small dishes recommonded were all tasty and of high quality. Overall the only reason to dock a star is that Nobu is expensive (big surprise). But if you are not cost sensitive, then this is an excellent place for high quality drinks and light dishes. Recommended.

The food was below par, and the service was slow and unprofessional. Our server initially forgot our tea order and didn’t acknowledge the mistake. The savory platter was served with missing pieces, and the sweet platter was poorly presented, with pieces rolled over and disrupting the arrangement. Additionally, the tea cup was dirty, and the silverware wasn’t changed between the savory and sweet courses. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The food and service at Nobu can’t be beat. Every dish, spot on perfect. Our server & team were phenomenal. He curated our food selections & really nailed it. Food portions are small. Works for me but gets expensive trying to satiate a young guy. I’d love to see the “tacos” be sized for at least two bites. We ate in the atrium area at Nobu Palo Alto. It is probably lovely in the summer when you can see the garden. On a chilly, rainy November night, it felt a bit like being in the overflow area. Could perhaps be made more inviting with a little attention.

It’s very interesting that I reserved omakase to celebrate a birthday and someone reached out to ask for the name of birthday person to inform me that they will write Happy Birthday XXX. However, when I arrived- they didn’t know that I reserved omakase and not only that, They didn’t write the name.. Then why bother making distinction when making reservation for omakase vs standard seating and why bother messaging the customer for the name? Overall, due to the message- I was expecting something little special for the birthday girl but, turned out nothing special.
