A mixed experience overall. Nonna has a nice atmosphere and live music, but the evening didn’t quite meet expectations. We were seated at a very small table on the back patio, so cramped it needed a separate stand just to hold items, and felt a bit removed from the main dining area and ambiance. Drinks were modestly poured, and portions across the board were noticeably small. The fried olive appetizer was a huge miss; tiny fried balls, bland, and reminiscent of something pre-made. If they were made in-house, it didn’t show. The salmon fillet I ordered was dry and much smaller than similar dishes I’ve had nearby. The sides were minimal: a few chopped asparagus pieces, a single zucchini slice, a spoonful of cauliflower rice, and a smear of pumpkin purée. All a bit pitiful. While the flavors were okay, the plate just felt lacking. My wife’s cioppino was similarly light; fine in taste, but thin on broth and portion. Service was polite but brisk, and we didn’t feel inclined to stay for coffee or dessert. Nonna has potential; the setting is lively, and the place was bustling, but I don't think she is a particularly generous host, and for us, the experience didn’t quite deliver. EDIT: The owner contacted us, and we had a chance to give feedback directly. I revised the food score up by a star, because in retrospect I think my rating was a little low. We will give Nonna another go for sure.

They charge you for condiments like hot sauce and are rude when you question them about it.

Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to clarify that we don’t carry hot sauce—what we do offer is a premium imported Calabrian chili paste, which is indeed a chargeable item. We’re sorry you weren’t informed about that ahead of time. Had we known it impacted your experience so significantly, we would’ve absolutely done our best to make it right. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back and ensure a better visit.

This was our first time at Nonna. We loved it. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious and reminds me of the Italian food I grew up eating in New York and New Jersey. We’ll be back!

The owner called and explained things to me which cleared up a lot of misunderstandings we had during the visit. I appreciated that he reached out to ensure that they are always open to feedback to improve the exoerience. Still a nice place to come eat and enjoy the live music.

We love dining at Nonna & this evening met John “of Sicily” (an owner). The food & service are consistently excellent and the place is always full. Because of the fullness & the live music, it can get a bit loud~ we actually like sitting on the outside patio for more of a chill vibe. Never have had a bad meal here!!!
