Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Normandie offers an exceptional dining experience with "imaginative small plates" and "top notch" food and service. The ambiance is lively, perfect for a date night or casual dinner. Standout dishes include "crab beignets," "smoked beet salad," and "chocolate mousse." Attentive staff ensure a welcoming atmosphere despite some noise concerns. Highly recommended.

Everything was so well thought out and the flavors were balanced incredibly well. Favorites were the seared albacore and the beef carpaccio. When you get to desert, please do yourself a favor and don’t skip it! We had the Brûlée banana split which had no business being as good as it was and my personal cherry on top was the scotch and cheese. I would like if every meal ended this way.

Not sure if it was an off night, but we didn’t have the greatest experience. Everything was off. We spent almost 2 hours here and left disappointed. After the server took our drink orders it took 20 minutes for him to return with our beverages and take our food order. It took almost 15 minutes for him to bring out the seared albacore, which was the best dish we ate that night. Very bright and refreshing with subtle notes of heat and smoke. Wish we got another. When the server came to bus the table, he attempted to remove my cocktail from my hand. It was still half full, so I withdrew my hand. After telling him I was still drinking the beverage that was in my hand. He proceeded to act like I did something wrong. Then took almost 20 minutes for him to bring out the roasted Kobocha and take our second drink order. Great flavors, but had a gritty texture as it was undercooked and served chilled. The we got our smoked beets, also very good flavors but because it was also served chilled and undercooked. After busing our table and taking our second drink order we waited for 25 minutes for the Parisian gnocchi. This was a let down. It looked more like a watercress salad covered in broth. The bouillabaisse was fantastic, but the rest or the dish was underwhelming. The gnocchi were burnt and bitter, there was barely any seafood in the dish. One scallop, one prawn, zero crab. Definitely no trout roe. Whole experience could have been better.

The food and service were both good. My only minor complaint was the entry of the restaurant being too small. We had to squeeze to the side to let people leave.

We really liked Normandie. The service is exceptional and the food is gorgeous. The highlights were the oxtail croquettes, the albacore and the coffee cardamom ice-cream. Our little gem salad was medium so skip that. Everything else was solid and beautifully plated.
