Short staffed on a busy Tuesday night. Started with watered down martinis which had a surcharge since they were MARTINIS! Glasses were 3/4 full. Next came the overpriced specials. I had chicken scarpariello, usually one of my favorites. It was not special at all. It was bland and tasted like cafeteria food. Of course there was an uncharge for the SPECIAL chicken. Not going back after eating here at least 6 times in the last year. Too many other great Italian restaurants in Boca.

We’ve been to the Novello Restaurant many times, and as always, we were not disappointed. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable in assisting you with your dinner choices. The food is always prepared perfectly and is delicious! We’ve had the Eggplant Rollatini, Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala, Branzino Al Cartoccio, NY Strip, & others and all were fabulous! They also have a pianist who entertains you while you dine. I would very highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an enjoyable dining experience.

Unfortunately our experience at Novello was the worst one we’ve had in South Florida in the last 15 years. We were the second table to be seated outdoors since we had an early reservation. Despite this, it took a long time for a server to come to our table to recite the specials & an even longer time to return to take our order. We both ordered the Dover Sole for our entrees(one of the highest priced entrees on the menu). Despite my husband’s food allergies, they were not accommodating in modifying ingredients. It took quite a while for our food to come out. Our server filleted our fish table side. Unfortunately, she was not skilled at this. Both of us were picking bones out of our fish. One very sharp bone got stuck in my teeth & it was extremely difficult to remove. Our vegetables were undercooked & cold. The restaurant was getting very busy & loud as the evening went on & I observed the service at our table & others was getting slower & slower. I had the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Trader Joe’s version tasted significantly better. We had 2 gift cards that we tried to pay for our meal with but the manager came over to our table & told us we could only use one per evening. I would not choose to return to this restaurant but I also don’t want to be stuck with a $100 gift card. It took 2 1/2 hours from when we sat down until we paid our bill. All in all, a grueling, frustrating & unpleasant dining experience!

Awesome as always. Good food, good service, lovely ambience a warm welcome by all. My Frutti di mare w/a capellini substitution was ‘muah’. Each one of us enjoyed their individual selection.
