The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

Beautiful place to eat. Lovely view, very friendly staff, delicious food and reasonable price. We had the breakfast buy one get one free.

The food was good and the service by our waitress was brilliant. Our server made the evening. The food was good but could have been slightly better. The roast was piled up and it was difficult to see what was actually on the plate. Roast potatoes were average, swede mash was great. Also some deserts were not available which was disappointing.

Very disappointed. Booked afternoon tea online (put it in notes) to be told that I had to call to book (couldn’t contact me beforehand to advise). Waited 40 minutes for our meal - I had the monkfish tail which was overcooked and I couldn’t get my fork through the shoestring chips. Very disappointed.
