Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria, Philotimo, and the newly opened Le Clou. Officina seeks to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy to Washington, D.C., and is an ode to Stefanelli’s travels, training, and distinctly Italian-American upbringing.

Food was not that great! It was just ok! I had chicken parm and wish it was paired with pasta. It was on the salty side. 2 dishes our table did not like or eat.

The waiter mumbled so much that it was incredibly hard to hear him. Otherwise, the food was good. We asked for lite dressing on the salad, but it was drenched. Both pasta dishes were good.

My noise rating means there was very little noise. Our table was on the outdoor patio facing the water, with a strong sun early evening and a wonderful breeze. All of the food the four of us ordered was prepared uniquely deliciously, from the beef to the stuffed octopus, to the mussels to the tagliatele with a thick sauce of 4 meats to the delicious double espressos. It was advertised as a Mother’s Day brunch, but it didn’t resemble a traditional DC brunch and fell short compared to many other local restaurants offering Mother’s Day experiences. Given how easy it was to get a reservation, the underwhelming experience wasn’t surprising. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it for a special occasion brunch.

Over priced Mother’s Day brunch. Would have expected at a minimum a complimentary beverage or more food for $70 per a person plus had to pay the service fee through open table which made it $90 per a person.

From the drinks to the entrees everything was underwhelming. We have eaten at better Italian restaurants everywhere but here. It was soooo disappointing. Would not recommend.
