   Oh' Calcutta is an outstanding Indian restaurant in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem. They never disappoint, consistently offering creative specials and fresh takes on traditional Indian dishes. Last night, I had their Venison Masala special—a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars that was out of this world! The staff is always knowledgeable about the menu and specials, and their recommendations have never steered me wrong. The warm, inviting atmosphere makes for a great dining experience, and the convenient parking nearby is a bonus. If you love Indian food, you MUST try this restaurant! It’s an absolute gem in Winston-Salem.

   The only thing we didnt like was being pressured into getting boxes for our food, we ordered a little too much wich is our fault but the entire staff made a big deal about us not taking every last thing home and kept bringing more boxes when we specifically said that we didnt want to. My girlfriend felt pressured into taking her food and the waiters kept being like really? You dont want a box? I dont want to be judged when im spending 150 dollars on a dinner, it was our fault for ordering a little too much but that shouldnt result in the staff bringing you tons of boxes you didnt ask for and specifically said no too and making my girlfriend feel pressured. That is not part of the dining experience. But the food is amazing!

   I had heard that Oh' Calcutta was the best Indian restaurant in Winston-Salem, and I think I heard right. Excellent food, super friendly staff, nice decor. The Malai Kofta was the favorite dish we sampled, followed closely by the Chicken Korma. I was glad the restaurant owner stopped by our table, so I could tell him how much we enjoyed the food.

   We are in W-S every year for an event and have to go to Oh’ Calcutta because it is that good. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the wait staff is top notch. We’re from Raleigh and there isn’t anything there that compares. Thanks Oh’ Calcutta!

   My husband and I did a sample of most of the small plate appetizers since it was our first time. Everything was delicious, quick, and the value for money was spot on. All the employees were knowledgeable on dishes and friendly. The ambiance was great. We will be back!

   I had a great dinner at Oh’ Calcutta. Indian food is one of my favorite cuisines and the restaurant did not disappoint. The calamari, samosas, garlic naan, and lamb biryani were PERFECT. I was very happy with my leftovers the next day. The six layer chocolate cake was delicious as well, decadent and the perfect meal finisher.

    First time here for lunch and it was lovely. There’s a special lunch menu but they were more than accommodating for all options! I loved everything and our server Josh C was so attentive and engaging.
