While the food was great as always the service was pretty awful.
I made a reservation weeks ahead of time for my bf and I for his birthday, we arrived maybe 2-3 minutes late, but they have a 15 minute grace period. The hostess seemed surprised and acted like there was no table for us. She grabbed two menus then mumbled something and started walking toward the dining area, we assumed to follow her as one would do. We follow her through the restaurant as she’s looking around for an open table. She stops and looks confused then turns around and almost runs into my bf who is standing in front of me. She looks confused and said “oh were you following me?” Ummm yes, we thought you were taking us to our reserved table. We happen to be standing right beside the bar area where you can watch them make sushi, she said “well, I guess you guys can sit here if you want” and sort of made it seem like it was our only choice otherwise we wouldn’t have a table. So we sat.
Service was very slow, the owner/manager somebody who looked in charge came to the bar to talk to the sushi cooks multiple times to say some tables have been waiting over an hour for food. We waited a very long time for our food as well. They had 6 people making sushi but couldn’t keep up.
We ordered two types of rolls, the second one never came, we asked about it and our waiter looked confused, even though she read it back to us when she took the order. She said the order got lost but we could tell she never put the order for it in. We said just to take it off the bill, we’ve already been there for 1.5 hours, we’re not waiting any longer. We had to hunt down anyone to get more drinks.
If the service was a good as the food I could justify the price, but with service that slow and awful the price does not justify the full experience.
