   This was my first time at this restaurant with my husband for a date night and I wish I had great things to say, but the only things I enjoyed were the Oysters Rockefeller and mashed potatoes. My husband has been there frequently when it town on business, and we were so looking forward to a great meal, but we were very disappointed. I ordered the filet and lobster tail and my husband got the filet. We both asked for medium and the steak was very overcooked and the lobster tail was extremely overdone, and inedible, as it was so tough it tasted like rubber. I was really hoping this was going to be as great as he said it would be, but we were both disappointed. It was very busy, noisy, and service was poor. I understand it was busy, but I had to practically chase our server down for water. We had decided to do this for dinner as opposed to catching a Broadway show our first night in and I am sorry we chose Old Homestead. Maybe it was just not a good night for the chef, restaurant, but for the price we paid I’d be hard pressed to give it another try and risk the same result. We have no issue spending money on good food, but it needs to be just that. Highly disappointing.

   $160 steak was really fatty and other than the two slices in the middle of the steak it was poor . I have been to OH 30 times over the years by far the worst experience I have ever had. Even a simple Cesar salad was below grade 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bothers me to leave a grade like this but it was not good.

   We were sat at 7:15. Had to wait 20 minutes for a drink menu (that we had to ask for) and to order. Our food didn’t come out till 8:30. Our waiter was clearly attending to other tables and ignoring ours for whatever reason. The food was fine but for the time we waited was expecting much more to justify it. Not impressed and wouldn’t return. Definitely felt like we were being judged as we are a younger couple.

   Excelent restaurant, outstanding service. Prime food overall. Mr. Nelson, oir waiter deserves a special thank you, he takkes his craft with class and pride.

   Everything on their menu is superb and the old world ambience just makes it a special place to take your special someone to celebrate special moments. I can't wait to return.

   Everything was delicious. We started with clans oreganata which were awesome. I had the bacon wrapped filet, one of the best I ever had and my wife the prime rib which was equally delicious. We shared the creamed spinach. That was hands down the best creamed spinach we've ever had, filled with cheese and truffle flavor. The best. We split the cheesecake for dessert which was pretty good as well. I highly recommend visiting. We saw many tables get the porterhouse for two which we had planned on getting until my wife decided that she wanted prime rib. So maybe next time but that looked delicious!

   I ordered the bread which was nothing special. The crab cakes which I enjoyed 7.8/10. And the filet wrapped in bacon with onion rings. The bordelaise sauce was not that great so I tried to not get my steak in the sauce which was difficult on my tiny plate. Onion rings were delicious, though. I’ve been to the Old Homestead in Vegas and it blows this one out of the water. Would I return? Probably not given the other better choices in NYC.

   Wonderful night with the my children. Service was excellent, perhaps only surpassed by the food. Really wonderful night.
