Outstanding service, promising menu but a bit disappointing execution which culminated in overcooked meat (reqeusted medium-rear and got nearly well-done)

We went as a party of 10, including 3 children. The maitre immediately suggested the special dishes for the children (burgers) which was very much appreciated. Food was excellent, if rather pricey, but the service was very slow - much slower than we had experienced on the couple of occasions when we had eaten here before. Ambience was good - we were very nicely seated at the far end of the restaurant, but the noise level was still quite high.
