Forged from the fires of Covington, Ky. Opal is a casual, chef-driven, fine-dining restaurant that offers wood-fired grilled foods, craft cocktails, and a curated wine menu using locally focused products. The menu, developed by the company's culinary director, Chef Eric Polhamus, features Contemporary American dishes. Opal is the third restaurant installment in the portfolio of Bill and Morgan Whitlow. Opals are known to be the stone that represents justice, harmony, protection, love and passion. Just like the gemstone, Opal Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is different from every angle you approach it from. Patrons will enjoy a 360-degree backdrop of downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky or dine indoors as the flames from the unique Grillworks grill reflect off of the bar. Everything is exceptional, from the service and atmosphere to the food. Across the board, this is my favorite place in the area. This was our second time visiting, and I cannot recommend it enough for a fine dining experience. Kind and attentive service, excellent food and drink - you cant go wrong at Opal.

We loved the vibe at Opal. The purple ceilings were super cool. Michaela was awesome and everyone was friendly and professional. We love charcuterie and Opal’s version is one of the best in the tri-state area. We will go back and you should too.

Well-seasoned and tasty food. The drinks were well-crafted, if a little sweet. Service was friendly but a tad slow—probably because of the size of the kitchen. The interior fittings were a little pedestrian, reminiscent of a company cafeteria, and the music was muzak of the elevator variety. That is the one change that'll have the greatest impact.

Lovely night on the rooftop! We had snacks and drinks before heading out to a gala. The seasonal toast with mushrooms and beet vinaigrette was fabulous. Our server was lovely and helpful with drink and snack selections and was very kind to offer to take several photos of our group on a special night. Looking forward to my next visit!

We had a great server and food. We tried the Prawns, Tartar, Cauliflower, and bread to start. Steaks and the pork chop were perfect!
