   Do not miss this new restaurant. We met the owner and she was great. Highly recommend. My husband doesn't like sushi, but he loved his hamburger!! The Miso soup was excellent.

   It was our first visit to Oto Sushi. When we arrived it was packed with an energetic crowd and we were happy to see that it is popular. We ordered some miso soup, cucumber salad, a couple different rolls from their specialty section and some of the grilled fish on a skewer. The soup was good. The cucumber salad was lacking any flavor. The specialty rolls just did not work. The flavors did not go well together and one was extremely salty while the other was overly sweet. The grilled fish was very salty. All in all we did not enjoy the food. The service was decent but not super attentive. We also ended up with a party of five next to us that was so loud that we could not wait to get out of there. Based on the crowd, they are likely doing something right, but it was not for us and we don't plan to return.

Weekends can get energetic, and while we strive for a great dining experience, some nights are naturally louder. We always aim for attentive service and appreciate the feedback. While Oto may not be the right fit for you, there are great sushi spots in Laguna like Starfish, Miki's, or Seabutter that might be more your style. We’ll keep focusing on sustainably sourced sushi with a unique approach for those who appreciate it.

   Have been to Oto Sushi twice - absolutely amazing fresh sustainable sushi - they have creative rolls and everything we had was incredible- especially the king and coho salmon. Our fantastic servers were Wes and Dylan - we will be back

   What a nice authentic Japanese sushi, sashimi, nigiri experience. I highly recommend the Apollo roll, we will definitely come back for that! I loved that almost everything was homemade and gluten free. Service was outstanding. Everything came out when it was ready and they quickly removed empty plates. Our server was very attentive to our needs and very kind. The house tamari was incredible. Just wish they had liquor for their cocktails. We will be back!

   Twice I’ve dined here and it’s fantastic. The food is unique and unforgettable. The interior is beautiful and the scene is fun. I’ve had the waiter Dylan on both visits and he’s an asset to OTO. I will go back again and again. This restaurant is a win for Laguna Beach!

   We were pleasantly surprised overall as limited reviews online due to the restaurant being newer. Great walkable location in Laguna near Main Beach with a cute mural on the window saying we found love in LB. Daughters and wife loved it. The restaurant has lots of character and pretty design features, local feeling staff and relaxed yet refined ambiance. When you go with 4 kids you’re always on heightened alert. They made us feel welcome and accommodated us next to the hearth, so cozy and out of the way of others not looking to be bothered by kids. That’s always important. Service was great, the gent was kind and knowledgeable and authentic. The owner was around, obviously attentive and caring and aware of the details. My kids loved the food, which is never easy to do. The chicken, tempura, miso, and sushi were perfect. My wife and I loved our meal from start to finish and we plan on going back, as our kids told us we need to plan a trip just for the place! I wish them well there at Oto!

    We sat at the bar and Jackson was our server who was very professional and friendly. He explained the specials very well and offered some great suggestions which were very eclectic and delicious Would go back anytime.
