Ox is now open for both indoor and outdoor patio seating, seven days per week.

Please note, the weather is out of our control, and therefore with any outdoor experience, there is always a risk of inclement weather and heat waves. As a small restaurant, we have limited ability to accommodate additional seating in the dining room. In the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate by moving your reservation inside, but we cannot guarantee seats will be available.

OX Restaurant finds inspiration in the wood-fired grilling tradition of Argentina, and with it, the culinary heritage of Spain, France and Italy.

Showcasing prime local meats and fish, OX also features seasonal produce in distinctive preparations.

OX harnesses the culinary talent of Portland chefs Greg Denton and Gabrielle Quiñónez Denton in a friendly and comfortable neighborhood restaurant with an energetic vibe and creative menu designed to appeal to the palate of the Pacific Northwest.

    The staff was hands down the sweetest, kindest team we’ve seen!! Very engaged and very friendly! Really made us feel welcome and appreciated!! From the gracious hostess to our kind server and the rest of team, you can tell there’s a solid culture and the staff like where they work. That alone gets all the stars. We did knock off a couple due to noise level + service time. While we absolutely loved being there, it did take over two hours to do dinner. Which is OK but with the noise level it was a little tough. Still, wonderful food, wonderful staff. And good veggie options for us non-meat folk. Great fancy wine menu too.

    OX is our favorite Portland steakhouse that consistency delivers on all fronts — exceptional food, an impressive wine list, and top-notch service. The Maple Brined Pork Chop was the best Pork Chop we have ever had. We also really enjoyed the perfectly cooked Halibut and glazed carrots. Ox is our special place that we take all visiting friends and family that WOWs us each time.

    The food was amazing, the service was amazing! The clam chowder was the best chowder I’ve ever had!! From start to finish (appetizers - dessert)- WOW, just WOW!! Will recommend this dining experience to everyone, and we’ll definitely return!

    Dayne's service was a perfect balance of being around to be informative and suggestive but give us enough space to enjoy our own time together. Crew works very well as a team bussing each others tables and filling waters. Food is always great and each item is uniquely different. Of course, life is always better with that amazing clam chowder.

    There were 5 of us. We had a table by the window in the back room which was quiet and just the right size. The main room seemed rather noisy. The food was outstanding. Every course was delicious from the complimentary soup to the huckleberry sorbet. Thank you

    Ox has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. However, I found the price has really increased for less in the plate. Note that you will be serve only the protein if you order a meat (price varies between $40 to $100-ish). If you want an accompaniment, you will have to order another dish (for about $20) which were too salty. The ambiance and the service are really good though.
