My husband and I have been wanting to try Pa'La for a long time due to glowing review from my husband's aunt. We went to see the Nutcracker downtown with my parents and decided to make a night of it. It was the perfect dinner outing, with the servers being attentive, helpful and friendly. They walked us through the menu and made suggestions as we needed them. The meal was paced out perfectly, where we only ordered a bit at a time. The Japanese sweet potatoes, artichokes and Argentine skirt steak were the highlights of our meal, but everything we tried was delicious. The ambience was lovely, and our group had a fantastic dinner before leaving for the show. They made sure we got out of the restaurant with time to spare to walk over to the Symphony Hall. We can't wait to go back and try out more of their menu, a really excellent spot!

Poor service. My wife and I ordered 5 dishes for dinner including a salad and 2 appetizers. All 5 dishes came out at the same time. The food was mediocre overall. The most expensive dish, scallops with speck, was cold and undercooked. The brussel sprouts and the burrata salad were very good. But overall a very disappointing experience. Bad service, mediocre food and more expensive than warranted. We won’t be going back. Very disappointing.

Excellent. Quality ingredients. They don’t use seed oils 👏. One of the best restaurants in Phoenix. Great jazz in the upstairs lounge Thursday-Saturday. Can’t wait to return!

The middling reviews come from the ribeye steak I ordered. The steak was on the thin side for a ribeye, but was cooked to perfection (medium rare.) A high quality ribeye should not have noticeable amounts of gristle in it - this steak definitely did. The ribeye is served cut into cubes - that was an unusual presentation in my experience. Between that and the noticeable gristle, I'd likely not order the Ribeye here again. Loved the atmosphere. We dined around 6PM on a Sunday after attending an afternoon concert at the Footprint Center. The Tapas plates were very good, and service was also good. The atmosphere was nice, warn, relaxing - both my wife and my daughter enjoyed the scene. All in all - I'd return, and focus on Tapas and trying the seafood this time.

From start to finish everything was great. Food was excellent, service, and ambiance. They even moved us to a better table upon arrival which was unexpected.

KEEP THE GNOCCI ON THE MENU! The gnocci dish with the bone marrow was unbelievable. We’ve traveled the world and this was a dish that stopped our conversation in its tracks as all we could do was focus on those spectacular flavors swirling around our taste buds. Please for the love of all that’s holy keep it on the menu. Also the beef tartare was amazing! It had a very unique lightness and almost citrusy tone that complimented the beef. The bread was amazing, unique color of course, but it had the perfect texture and density for the tartare. Only downside of the evening was the shrimp we got was overcooked, but still delicious. We will be coming back with friends 100%, but keep that gnocci on the menu! P.S. Have to give the front of house staff some love. They were so on top of their game for a packed house. Friendly, kept our water full always, knew the menu inside out, and the little detail of folding my wife’s napkin while she was in the restroom was beautiful. The beauty is in the details.

Our first experience last month was upstairs…and it was perfect. My wife and I (even though there was live music upstairs), could carry on a conversation, service was great, food very good. Last night was completely different. We could barely hear the hostess, could barely hear our server (even though she was very attentive), and because the crowd noise was so loud, we essentially had no conversation. We felt like we were eating alone, and sound level influenced how we felt about the food…we did not enjoy ourselves. Conveniently located near parking and the symphony hall a plus, but our next trip downtown will not include dinner here. We cannot countenance a dinner where we have to shout to be heard. Good for them that they are popular and busy.

Food was incredible. We went for the “Chef’s Choice” and it didn’t disappoint. Each dish was fantastic and so was the service. We’ll be back for the foie gras!
