Staff and service were amazing!! Food was good but not worthy of price tag. I’m not sure they used or maybe just not enough seasoning overall? Restaurant felt slightly tired. Had a lovely nice experience here.

Where to begin- we live here and have been here before. Many times. Five for dinner. This time was flat out terrible, missing ingredients in many of the dishes, and beyond disappointing . 1. Food - fried pork belly was missing advertised ingredients- pickled watermelon rinds; shrimp rémoulade salad - pickled mirleton, boiled egg and lardons were all MIA, tomato was mealy and sliced, not cured, and not cherry tomato, skimpy on the sauce, had to ask for more; and one gumbo had too much rice. Two Werlein Salads- store bought plain croutons, not the garlic crusted, not garlic anchovy dressing - tasted like sour caesar, and hardly any dressing. Three fish orders, two were fine, but one was not fully cooked- mushy in the middle and cool temperature, the center of the plate was cool and the vegetables and sauce at the bottom were cold. Bread. We asked for bread six times, 5 of the server and one time from the person bringing some of the apps. After we finished our entrees, with three of us still with sauce hoping for bread, the server came by to tell us they were out of bread, sorry, short staffed. In the middle of this a server came with two loaves of bread slightly warm and with butter. My wife had asked a different server for bread a few minutes before on the way to the bathroom. So they had bread all along. Dessert- the famous white chocolate bread pudding was smaller in size than in the past and was just not that good. The rum cake, ehhh. Cake was very very dry. 2. Service. Server was largely absent, not once did he come by to ask how we were doing with the food, not once did he ask if we wanted more to drink, we asked for bread the 6 times, starting with our apps, and nothing from him until the very end when he said they were out of bread. But they weren’t. He just could not be bothered. Drinks- palace bills itself as a Bourbon place with 130+bottles of rum, including from Brazil, for a Caipirinha, they did not have it & took 15 mins to tell

The waitress that was really good at first, then got the order messed up and the gumbo came out just barely warm and too salty. Will likely be the last time we go there.

Disappointed with Saturday “jazz brunch”. Only 1 breakfast entree (eggs benedict) on the menu. Maybe 2 items if you count crepes as breakfast. As far as the jazz, they played 4 songs in 1 hour. More breaks than music.
