   Currently exploring fine dining experiences in McAllen, and this restaurant has secured the top spot on my list across all categories. The atmosphere was excellent—even with several birthday celebrations happening around us, nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. The music was amplified, but thanks to the great acoustics, we were able to have a normal conversation without raising our voices, making it perfect for a date night. The service was outstanding. Everything was well-timed, and we never felt rushed during the hour and a half we spent enjoying a late dinner. Despite our 10:30 PM reservation, the place was still full, yet every staff member we interacted with was incredibly attentive and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. This spot is now my go-to recommendation for a top-tier dining experience. I had the 8 oz. filet mignon, which came with potatoes and asparagus, and paired it with a glass of wine. I also ordered the truffle crème corn—which was a standout and did not disappoint. For dessert, I took the lotus cheesecake to go since I was already satisfied, and I’m glad I did—it was the perfect way to wrap up the night and easily sharable between two people. The pricing is comparable to other fine dining options in the area, but in my opinion, this place has officially bumped Mikhuna off the top of my list and surpassed Ambra entirely—securing its position as my new number one.

   El servicio excelente, hicimos reservación y todo a tiempo, la comida muy rica , la cockteleria muy buena, las recomendaciones de los meseros muy acertadas, definitivamente regresamos , muy buena experiencia.

   I’ve never left a food review before, but my experience at Palominos has finally compelled me to do so. My girlfriend ordered a Filet Mignon with mushrooms and sauce on the side. The first plate arrived with the mushrooms smothered all over the steak instead. We sent it back, only to receive a replacement that was completely undercooked—blue rare instead of well-done. As for my meal, I ordered a skirt steak medium, but what I got was well-done and dry. The flavor was severely lacking—not just in the steaks but also in the potatoes. Everything was disappointingly bland. The ambiance was nice, but the food did not match the setting. Palominos needs to reconsider its kitchen staff because the quality is simply not there.

   Excellent service, small portions. Food was nothing to write home about. I ordered tacos which were two small tacos for $18. Service however was great. They’re professional, hospitable and attentive. Just don’t go here hungry!
