About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for groups
  • Lively
*New Address: 59 JFK Street, Cambridge MA*
Originally opened in October of 1996, Grafton Street Pub & Grill has been a beloved institution of Harvard Square for over 25 years. Located at 59 JFK Street – the Gateway of Harvard Square – this neighborhood hot spot is named after the spirited cobblestone-lined shopping district near Dublin’s famed Temple Bar area. Grafton Street deftly combines a traditional Irish pub’s warmth and coziness with a contemporary and comfortable full-service restaurant. Formerly located at 1230 Massachusetts Avenue, Grafton Street relocated in March of 2022. The new location is on lower JFK Street just steps away from the Red Line MBTA stop and the Charles River. Grafton Street offers FREE validated parking daily and all day Sunday just above the restaurant in the Harvard Square Parking Garage. The garage entrance is located at 20 Eliot Street.

My husband and I enjoyed the lively mix of people across all age groups on this Friday night out. The parking validation will give us incentive to come again. Wow! They make it painless! Ambience is like an old library-very comfy. We appreciated having a quiet corner given my husband’s hearing impairment which makes it difficult for us when there’s a lot of ambient noise.

this is such a good find. shout out @liv for the rec. it’s very elevated pub food. cute bar area with fun decor. the decor in the main area is lots of old posters. for wine, we ordered the ALBARIÑO | GRAN BAZAN from galicia, 2020. it was excellent. i really enjoyed it. had citrus notes with no strange aftertaste. the moules frites were the star of the show. it came with steamed mussels, chorizo, hand-cut fries, and the house aioli. the house aioli almost tasted like a creamy thai curry. it was so good. i wish it was appropriate to drink from the bowl bc it was that good. really well seasoned mussels. they were probably the best mussels i’ve had in boston. the caesar was mid. lots of cheese which was good, but the croutons were eh, and so was the dressing. nice palate cleanser, but that’s all it was. lettuce needed to have been way crisper. the spinach artichoke dip was good, but a little too soupy for my taste. loved the crispy top tho. the burger was verrry mid. would skip next time. the fries tho with this and the mussels were impeccable chefs kiss show stopping. perfect crispness and salt to fry ratio. great service.

We had a great time at Grafton last night. I want to send an extra big thank you to the hostess. I made a note that I was surprising my husband with his friends who flew in and to not mention them when seating us. She NAILED IT. ‘Table for two?’ And even removed the ‘extra’ silverware and glasses to make it look like the reservation was for 2. My husband was SO surprised! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️

Great food and cocktails and a good wine list. Was busy on Valentine’s Day, and we made a reservation which I’m glad I did bc it was busy all night. Kudos to the host station!
