Originally opened in October of 1996, Grafton Street Pub & Grill has been a beloved institution of Harvard Square for over 25 years. Located at 59 JFK Street – the Gateway of Harvard Square – this neighborhood hot spot is named after the spirited cobblestone-lined shopping district near Dublin’s famed Temple Bar area. Grafton Street deftly combines a traditional Irish pub’s warmth and coziness with a contemporary and comfortable full-service restaurant. Formerly located at 1230 Massachusetts Avenue, Grafton Street relocated in March of 2022. The new location is on lower JFK Street just steps away from the Red Line MBTA stop and the Charles River. Grafton Street offers free parking for all guests that enter the Harvard Square parking garage after 5pm Monday thru Thursday, and all day Sunday.

    The food is quite good but our server mysteriously disappeared half way through service at 7pm. Another server took over after we had been ignored for 20 minutes without a word about what happened.

    It’s a busy Harvard Square place with fun atmosphere. The food was surprisingly really good. Staff are busy so you need to call them Over. Oysters were great and all our dishes were too. We will definitely be going back.

    We were seated immediately and waited a good 20 minutes for a drink order. We gave out complete order food included. Everything was at a snails pace. The stout pie resembles the trader Joe pie. The spinach dip was amazing. Dinner was acceptable. Very long wait to get table cleared and get check. Overall it’s was nice restaurant but not attentive at all

    I recently dined at Grafton Street Pub and was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was inviting and intriguing, setting the stage for a memorable evening. Our waitress was a standout—wonderful and charismatic, she made us feel right at home and added to the overall experience. The $1 oysters were simply scrumptious, fresh and brimming with flavor. As for the fish and chips, they were exceptional; the batter was perfectly crispy, and the accompanying slaw was a delightful surprise. I detected a hint of cinnamon or perhaps vanilla extract, which elevated the dish to another level. Overall, I highly recommend Grafton Street Pub for anyone looking for great food and a warm, engaging atmosphere.
