As a steak connoisseur who travels the world to find the best steaks, my early June visits to Peter Luger’s left me awestruck. The steak was nothing short of extraordinary—delectable and miles ahead of some of the best steakhouses I’ve ever been to. The dry-aged flavor was rich, bold, and unforgettable. I couldn’t wait to return, but my recent visit was a complete letdown. This time, the steak was utterly tasteless, and the signature dry-aged flavor was completely missing. Everyone at my table noticed the difference. I understand that the head chef has since left, and I can’t help but wonder if that’s the reason for the drastic decline in quality. Has the beef supplier changed as well? Whatever the case, it simply wasn’t the same. To add to the disappointment, the service was lackluster. There was no classic presentation of the steak—it felt like the servers were just rushing through, throwing it on the table without the care or finesse you’d expect from a restaurant of this reputation. It seems this place has become a hollow shell of what it once was, and it now feels more like a tourist attraction than a true steakhouse. Honestly, I’m starting to believe that New York Times review—maybe they were onto something after all.

Started with the best tasting Williamsburg Old Fashioned, followed by bacon strips and oysters and the Porter House for 2. Service was amazing and the food was spectacular. One of the best meals ever. .

My parents and I decided to have lunch at Peter Luger’s, expecting a memorable meal, but the experience was far from it. We ordered three burgers, which we’d heard were top-tier, but they didn’t live up to the reputation. The burgers were bland and tasteless, and the bread was hard and tough—honestly, McDonald’s burgers are more enjoyable. The service only made things worse. Our server seemed completely uninterested, inattentive, and even disappeared for over 20 minutes, despite the dining room being nearly empty. When they returned, there was no acknowledgment of their absence. The lack of attention and personal skills added to the disappointment and made the meal feel like a chore rather than a treat. This was truly a disheartening experience at a restaurant I considered my favorite.

Food wasn’t cooked as requested. Service was poor. Quality of food is not up to other steakhouses.

We had a fantastic meal at the Las Vegas Peter Lugers. It is a beautiful restaurant. It brings back the feel of the original Peter Lugers in Brooklyn , where we have eaten many times. The dark wood and elegant lighting make you feel like you’ve stepped back into a more gracious time. The service was impeccable. Gee and Nigel were there to meet our every need. They were so personable and welcoming as well. The food was outstanding. The famous steak was cooked to perfection. It was a juicy medium rare. The seasoning was subtle but burst in your mouth. It was everything we remembered from Brooklyn, and more. The salmon was flaky and tender. We started with the tomatoes with Peter Luger sauce. You will never find such gorgeous huge tomatoes anywhere. And the sauce is so delicious and a unique blend of flavors. We also got the German fried potatoes and creamed spinach. Both were beautifully prepared. The whole meal was wonderful. We had dreamed of returning to Peter Lugers and now we definitely will again. A must visit in Vegas for sure.

We had 6:30 reservations, the people that brought us to our table were efficient, sweet and kind. The three gentlemen that served and catered to our needs were well versed in the ins and outs of the restaurant, what to order and which items to add to our dish. From the rolls on the table to the main course everything was top shelf.
