   Phortal ranks among the top dining experiences we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. From the moment you come through the door, you are pampered by the polished and very knowledgeable staff. Manager Alejandro and his team are attentive without being intrusive. The room with its minimal decor is beautiful and creates a serene atmosphere. The food is beyond compare. I am not one for tasting menus preferring to choose my own meal. Phortal however is a tasting menu with a twist. Your preferences are what guides Chef Alejandro’s creations. How he does it for each individual diner is truly amazing. He’s a magician. Nothing is left to chance Every detail is perfection. Do not miss this wonderful restaurant!

   AMAZING experience- nightly chefs tasting menu!! 10 stars Staff is attentive but really lets you enjoy yourself, food was simply amazing - we can’t wait to go back and see what they have next

   In a town with great food; this one is exceptional! Fine dining with excellent food. Chef is able to easily accommodate food issues with notice. If you’re looking for a special occasion experience, this is it.

   Excellent all around. Definitely 5 stars. Special experience on our vacation. The chef’s creations were seamless, delicious, and displayed beautifully. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere is lovely. We enjoyed this experience so much. They think of everything from cocktails to dessert. Flawless and a definite must during a visit to San Jose del Cabo.

   This is the second time I’ve been to Phortal. It’s an amazing restaurant unlike anything else in the area. Don’t miss this one. Food is outstanding and service is beyond lovely definitely will go back.

   The food was absolutely excellent. We took the 3 course option but for sure that was plenty of food. The night couldn’t be better and all 6 of us loved it

   Great hidden gem in San Jose. We have been living here for the past 3 years in the winter and was just recommended by a friend. We have dined everywhere between San Jose and Cabo and this is towards the top of our dining experiences. We highly recommend!

   Phortal delivers an amazing dining experience from start to finish, offering fine dining in a beautifully minimal yet warm space. The service was truly exceptional. We were taken care of by Eduardo, Oziel, and David, all of whom showcased hospitality that was second to none. Eduardo, our main server, was a standout—he was knowledgeable about every dish, giving detailed insights into the ingredients when we asked. His ability to read the table and know when to engage or step back made the experience even more enjoyable. We opted for the five-course menu, though with the amuse-bouche and extras, it felt more like an eight- or nine-course feast. Every dish was masterfully crafted, offering flavors that were unlike anything I’d tasted before, proving this restaurant operates on a whole other culinary level. My personal favorite was the filet mignon, with the shrimp empanada and mole coming in as a close second. That said, every single dish was outstanding, and putting our trust in the chef to curate the experience was a decision I don’t regret. Even the gin and tonic was one of the best I’ve ever had. I HIGHLY recommend Phortal for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

    Phortal is my new favorite restaurant in San Jose del Cabo for fine dining. We chose the 5 course meal. Every amuse bouche and course were absolutely delicious and extremely flavorful! The service was spectacular. The ambiance is beautiful and serene. The price, in my mind, is a good value for all the delectable tastes you get. I’ll be coming back for sure… many times!
