With all the previous rave reviews on-line and time to move past opening pains for their UWS location, Pig and Khao was actually quite disappointing. They need to check the cold that comes in from their garage-door windows in the front as food cools very quickly in that area. Midway through small or large plates, your orders are already room temperature and below. There's little time to drink or talk without your dishes losing all their heat Not good. More importantly, the advertised "dry aged ribeye steak" -- coming in around $74 with the prerequisite tax and tip (using only 15% not 20% as the tip factor) -- is anything but ribeye. Flank steak or maybe skirt steak: either one is a far cheaper cut of steak than dry aged ribeye. We were not served ribeye but that was what was listed on the menu at a premium price of $59. That price point signifies a far more premium cut than what was presented. Bottom line, at $74 (total price) we were significantly overcharged. The kitchen serves the entire thing pre-sliced (never a good sign that it's a premium steak), hidden under a mound of fried shallots and pearl onions both whole and breaking apart along with an excessive amount of dark brown gravy. In other words, diners don't know what's really underneath it all. Additional problem: A true ribeye steak would never be this tough to slice through with a steak knife. So, if a restaurant is going to treat diners this way -- maybe management isn't aware of the switch the kitchen is making, i.e. telling the patrons it's dry aged ribeye and then presenting them with a far less expensive cut at the much higher price -- you know other shortcuts are being taken.

We were disappointed. The chefs counter wasn’t worth it as the chef s didn’t engage and look lost .. the music was rap , playing a strange music mix , playing very loud. We had 5 dishes— after dinner had a terrible garlic aftertaste that stayed for another 24hours. The bill was high for a basic Thai food that was advertised as French Filipino dishes

Everything about this restaurant is fantastic. The food is delicious, the cocktails are great, the service was on point (friendly, helpful, present but not overbearing), and the value of the family meal option is incredible, especially for NYC. Highly recommend! (get the whole fish and the khao soi!)

This evening was the first time at the UWS location. The atmosphere was convivial and noise level civilized for a NYC restaurant. The food was excellent, particularly the stuffed shishito peppers and chili pan mee (noodles). Our servers were attentive but not obsequious. We will return to Pig & Khao to try the family dinner menu.

The mushroom salad is delicious. Everything else was good. I think it's the UWS atmosphere that just throws me. There's no warmth, but that might just be the UWS.

I was hoping that this down town transplant would be a culinary hit but alas I was quite disappointed w the food. Probably will not return. I love Chinese food and have been to china many times but pig and k missed the mark maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but no one at our table was happy with the food. Sad but true.
